Can all you guys quit posting every little thing about Nico and his idiotic family? It's time to move forward. As far as I am concerned, they don't exist to me. Unless, they are making bad headlines!

How the F is this not relevant or noteworthy for pointing out? Madden was supposed to play UT this year in Knoxville. The fact that he just left is highly relevant to all of this. Buy a clue.

I understand what you’re saying, but Tayler Green was expected to still be the starter this season for Arkansas for l again this year (and the main QB playing against UT). Madden is a true freshman, and he wasn’t going to be off the bench without the Razorbacks were to just get completely decimated by QB injuries by game 5 of the season. (He also hadn’t played football for a full year as he was declared ineligible his last year of high school; he wasn’t going to be seeing the field unless Arkansas had its hand completely forced.)

Would be hilarious if little brother beats out big brother for the starting position. Not much chance of that happening, I guess in reality. I can’t believe UCLA put themselves in this shape. What happens if daddy decides to pull the same time with both of them a year from now
Little brother hasn’t played football since 2023 (he was ineligible his senior year of high school), so it’s pretty doubtful…if he’s good enough to go straight into starting as a true freshman after that, well he’d pretty much have to be a football prodigy.

They still got 8-9 more on spring roster. The Bandit Bros should make it 10-11 on current roster after arriving, after Aguilar bailed. The rest of that QB room best be sigining papers and going G5/FCS and get the heck outta dodge. Only got 3 days left. Most all are walk-ons but still...why on earth would so many walk-ons choose to go to such a single school. Not like they get a chance to do anything meaningful in practice to climd hte pecking order.

If only you still had to sit a year to transfer, 90% of this nonsense would be fixed and we could still let the boys get legally paid.

IMO free transfers would have always mucked up the sport, even if NIL wasn't in the picture. NIL is just the cherry on top of this mess of modern football anarchy.

The new transfer rules are causing the chaos in CFB. Not NIL.

NIL might pour some gasoline on the craziness, but even if NIL didn't exist you'd have guys 1) leaving for better under the table deals and/or 2) there is still an incentive to transfer (more playing time, don't like the coach, etc.) even if no money was involved.

So it looks like this was premeditated, why would Madden commit to a school he never even visited unless this was planed from the start, what a POS.

Arkansas would be idiots (which is possible) if they just cut a kid a check with no clawback. If it was simply a monthly payment for time, they would have no case. He was there. Happens in the real world every day. Someone takes a job, finds out it's not for them and leaves. Unless Edge was smart enough to write the agreement correctly, they have no case. If they didnt write it correctly, they should be replaced.

My understanding, and anybody with insider knowledge can correct me, is that the way these contracts are negotiated is to have collectives pay an upfront fee to the players for their obligations with the stipulation that they have to give it back if they transfer before a specific obligation is met.

So the AD here is just making that stipulation public and indicating the collective will get that money back because Madden didn’t meet his obligation to stay there for a specific time period.

This is based on some situations at A&M with some players who left there but had to pay.

He was starting to look really good in spring practice, Petrino even called him out specifically. But it might be a blessing in disguise to avoid the mess next year and just get a portal QB knowing Madden would have done this same thing a year from now anyway. Not sure it’s worth it to recruit HS QBs anymore. Cam Ward came from Incarnate Word - let the small schools find the studs for you and then go get them lol

Beginning to wonder if it wasn't about them playing together all along. Tennessee not interested in Madden, so the fam blows up the UT deal, then they screw Arky and the whole family lives happily ever after at...... UCLA?

WTF?... Bold strategy cotton, let's see how it works out.... 🤣😂🤣
