I wish I didn't buy it. The gameplay is fine, but I'm an offline franchise guy, and connected careers is terrible. No roster editing, poor simulation, terrible CPU roster moves. But my biggest complaint is the XP, goals progression. I really prefer unmasked potential as it's better for realism. And my team rankings plummeted by the time I finished preseason to a laughable level for reasons I can't explain.
Seriously, last time I send EA money. No way they maintain a monopoly on football forever.
If lack of player editing, XP system, and goal progression isnt something that you dont like, then no, you wont like the game. I dont see the poor simulation, bad CPU roster moves that you do, I think it is very well done. Unmasked potential has been the worst thing about madden franchise is the previous years, IMO anyway. I would rather be able to progress players through play and practice and also there is still a player development rating in the game for each player that dictates the progression rate each player can have. One question, when you started your connected career, did you do it offline or online? The reason I ask is because there are some issues that need to be patched, but they have been able to make these changes via the server for the online connected career. By the way, you can have a one person (yourself) online connected career and not have to worry about other people getting in it. IMO connected careers is one of the deepest franchise modes ever and I would even put it above one of my favorite games, the show. Just my .02
