Reading some of the notes from the Dev blog on the Infinity engine.

A running back that falls on a pile and never actually touches the ground will get back up and keep running.

Im excited to see this actually happen.

Balance System

Balance is another key area we worked on. Every character in the game has a balance score that we calculate based on several factors including physical attributes, actions, and where contact is made. This balance system takes these factors into account and causes characters to stumble and fall in appropriate directions with appropriate momentum. All of this seems straightforward; HOWEVER, when you consider the fact that falling forward into someone else can stop you from hitting the ground and may actually help you recover, things get very interesting. For me there are two very important things to remember with this system:

The more I read about this, the more it seems as though it is much more than just tackling.

Madden 13 will be a definite buy for me. Good riddance to NCAA 13. Had no idea they changed the broadcasters too. Couldn't stand the previous years.

Evidently they have put a ton new in for the commentary, obviously due to the new crew, but CD guys are saying it is almost as in depth as NBA2K........I will have to hear that to believe

Yeah...I don't know if I'm buying that. 2K commentary is top-notch.

A bit of negative news for some, draft class imports for AA to Madden and fantasy draft options will not be availible for Madden 13. However, this new CC mode should make up for it. Looman says that we will probably get those two features back next year.

Players in your franchise or connected careers (what its called now) will no longer have predetermined progression. Instead you will have practice sessions during the season where you will earn XP for your players and you will be able to spend those on attributes as you see fit. You will also earn XP for each player for games in the season. They have said that they have made it difficult to "rank up" and it will prevent people from stat whoring during the season to put like 99 across the board. The time it would take you to do that, would be beyond that playing career or your players.

No draft import, no player editing = no purchase. Tired of offline customization being destroyed even if there's a sweet new physics engine attached.

Ive heard that from a lot of people, but wasnt the import absolutely terrible the last couple of years?

Yes, but at least then you could go and edit Mr. Over/Underrated once the draft was over when they added the edit feature back this past year. And at least there was a point to playing NCAA. Now those players get sent to a cyberspace funeral never to be seen or heard from again. Lame.

The new CC mode may be fairly fun as a standalone option, but I've always been an import-person regardless of how crappy it is. I try to fuse the two games/experiences together, not treat them as two entirely different universes.

And what I'm hearing is that you can't even edit equipment and numbers? I'm sorry but when the 2K modes in other sports offer the level of customization as they do nowadays, Madden as the bread winner of all sports franchises should be up front carrying the banner.

Hopefully they put it back in next year. I think they do a pretty good job with equipment and ratings, so I have never felt the need to do too much editing. Thats just me though, I know there is a huge group that enjoy and take full advantage of the editing of as much as they can.

CB's and DT's became ridiculously overrated in year 10+ of my franchise by doing the import process, but it took 15 minutes of my life to sort the players and knock down some ratings 5-10 points every couple of years.

I mean I guess I'm the minority because I play 3-4 games from my dynasty a season, sim the rest, go to the Players Leaving screen and become acquainted with the "possible" draft class in Madden. Does the import still suck? Yes, absolutely, and their Madden-generated classes were much more unique and fleshed out.

But it ruins playing NCAA for me if there's a 3 or 4 year journey for those guys and then it stops there. I don't know, this is a big disappointment to me, it feels like a launch title all over again. I'm sure CC will have some features to it that will be really cool, I just don't know if it's what I want out of the experience.

The problems I had with the imports, especially in 12 were the shoulder pad issue. Im not sure if they ever got that fixed, but by that time I gave up on it. Im actually looking forward to the CC, especially with the XP stuff in it and the ability to "train" your players instead of them having a predetermined progression. It sounds like they did it right with it, crossing fingers that they actually did.
