Why wasn't he able to get a better job after leaving Clemson? Is that a red flag?

if there is any legs to billy napier coming to ut, you would think it would be for the offensive coordinator position, which wouldnt make sense unless everything we have read or heard this past week, week and a half have been wrong. He coached the same position at clemson that chaney just got moved to.

Well he was OC/QB coach like Chaney is now. I don't see Chaney being demoted to QB coach and Napier becoming OC after being a staff supporter.

I know he had some good seasons at Clemson, but I don't see that switch happening. JMO

Wasn't Chaney TE coach for the Rams? Could be something to this.

I was a Clemson student when Napier was on staff. As a TE coach, he took Michael Palmer and turned him from a 2-star recruit into an NFL player. As mentioned, he was an excellent recruiter and was integral in getting several big names at a time when Clemson was sputtering in the win column. He was thrust into the OC job when Dabo took over, and his inexperience showed in 2010 where Clemson vastly underachieved. I think he was the scapegoat for numerous problems, and his reputation took a hit. But he's an excellent position coach and would be a home run hire for TEs and recruiting.
