Lupe Fiasco

Coming from a guy who thinks B.o.B. is the second coming those are bold words.

I think highly of B.o.B.
You think highly Lupe.

How about we just agree that, on these two points, we are both actually being quite reasonable.

So to the extent the above-bolded portion was intended to be delivered as a pejorative, that's not how it was received.

Kanye made it cool to be the quirky, different emcee. Evrybody was wearing a jersey with a team before he came, I bleieve he was the main influence in ushering in a different bred of rapper.

I'm not as big a fan of Cudi, so maybe you have a point about that...I'm not in position to argue it.

Musically speaking, B.o.B and Kanye are completely different stylistically. and I don't even think you would argue that point.

You're right that both of them dress differently and generally present themselves differently than a lot of rappers before them. Explanation: neither came from poverty. They're both middle-class.

At least Pac had conviction in his music, I believed what he was saying about his life, Biggie passed himself off as a drug kingpin which is laughable, guys from his hood even laughed at that notion.

Biggie is top ten all-time, nothing more.

He gets the same love that Kurt Cobain gets, an early and untimely death has made him that guy that everybody praises.

Biggie=Kobain
Pac=Hendrix

I completely disagree with you on every point. But I also know that nobody wins Biggie vs. Pac arguments. Never in the history of the earth has a pac guy ever been persuaded that biggie was better...or vice versa.

I will say, however, that your point about Biggie getting love because of an untimely death is kind of a silly point to be arguing considering it applies with equal or greater force to Pac than it does to Biggie.

I should probably start listening to music. I've never heard of some of these people. The only rapper that I'm familiar with is L.L.Cool J, "Doin it, and Doin it, and Doin it well..."

To the extent this is not heavy sarcasm, OutKast isn't a bad place to start.

OutKast Stankonia was the first rap cd I owned been listening to rap/hip-hop ever since.
It may be my favorite of all-time.

What I love about OutKast is that there really is no consensus about which one of their CDs is the best one. My personal favorite is ATLiens.

I'll go to Best Buy today and buy a Lupe Fiasco and Outkast cd and see what the fuss is all about.

I know it gets expensive to buy a bunch at a time, but if you don't mind going one deeper, I would pick up the B.o.B album as well. Or the new Kanye album. Haha. I'm trying to make you go broke.

Kanye's new album is amazing.

Haven't gotten a chance to listen to all the songs, but I have to agree with volball. "I Don't Want To Care Right Now" is just utter garbage.

Read an interview by Lupe today that said he doesn't like the album, it was pretty much forced by Atlantic to be dumbed down, and F&L2 will have no Atlantic involvement whatsoever.

In all I think I'm disappointed by it after listening to it pretty much nonstop since I downloaded it. All Black Everything is the best song, followed up by State Run Radio, and Words I Never Said...

Like the lyrics of state-run radio, not so crazy about the music.

As much as I want to hate Show Goes On, I can't get it out of my head. It's just so damn upbeat and catchy.

Tupac had recorded 5 times the amount of music that Biggie had.

If it's almost unlistenable, then why'd you listen to it 10 times?

And to say Eminem is average is just silly.

Guy at work plays it over and over...I hate the album, to me there is maybe 4 good songs on the album, the rest is garbage.

Em is good, if he were black, he wouldn't get nearly as much love, just my 2 cents.

There are 4 songs on this album that I refuse to listen to, they are that bad. It is not Lupe.

He still has all the talent in the world, he has got to get away from Atlantic.

But he's never made a bad song right? I told....

Lupe Fiasco Stereo sun leaked the other day because of me..not to brag or anything. it beats anything off lasers maybe besides beautiful lasers

The album isn't what I'd hoped but there some great songs on it.

Regardless he is still the best alive by me.

Just an opinion.

IMO lasers smacks of over tampering by producers... Never forget how easily major labels can ruin some acts.
