I'm sure it was just experimental, but... why Lucas Taylor?

"This also is a great time for us to look at Lucas Taylor at quarterback and some of the option read-type stuff."
Straight out of Fulmer's mouth.

He was a high school QB. They might have a few spread option plays designed for him and Ainge not being there means 1 less QB to get reps for. It's just coachspeak.

yeah true he was a high school quarterback, but do you think Cut is trying some new things with the offense other than the no-huddle?

:end of thread:

Essentially, that is all it amounts to. Do any of you really think Fulmer (Mr. Conservative) would really put Taylor behind the center?

No... now close this thread...

Actually, we seem to try this a few times every year.

do you think Fulmer has the guts to put Taylor behind center?
When Schaeffer was in there that was a year before that disastrous 5-6 season and there werent as many people calling for his head. Though I personally don't think he is going anywhere for a while, that also doesn't mean that I think that it is an appropriate time to start experimenting with new things when another 5-6 season means people with torches will be at his front door

you're probably right, but I like to stir the pot every once in a while.

I don't know about Lucas at QB, but I'd like to see him do something worth while. By the looks of last year, receiver might not be the best place for him.

It's not like this is the first time we've slipped a WR into the game for a play or two at QB.
