Tim Molton - Yahoo! Sports

I don't know if there is any truth to the rumor but it's being talked about on LSU's board. A lot of them are saying he has either left the team or been kicked off. Some of them also believe he is transferring to Tennessee. This is just a rumor and I have no idea if it's true. Just thought I'd post it. Rumors are always fun... 6'3 and runs a 4.45 40 according to rivals.

JMVA, Lord, Matt? Any of you heard anything about this? You're three of the better sources around this joint. Go ahead and shoot it down if there is not truth.

I apologize if this turns out to be nothing.

What position does he play?

Wide receiver. I meant to post it in the title of the thread. My bad.... I know the team doesn't really need a wide receiver but LSU fans are talking about him being at the very least their third most talented wide receiver. Apparently he was doing some damage in practice and scrimmages.

I haven't heard anything about it yet

But, just looking at his measurables, he looks to have some potential. If there is any truth to him leaving/getting kicked out of LSU, he really either have to spend a year in JuCo (a la Cameron Newton) and hope for offers, or maybe transfer to Tennessee where he'd more than likely have to walk on.

Thanks for the insight. It was actually just posted on LSU's board a little while ago and the thread has blown up fairly quick. There are like 50 posts and a handful of them have claimed to know for a fact he has left the team or been kicked off. I hadn't heard about it here so I figured it's something that just broke recently.

Reading about him on the LSU boards it look like he is out with a knee injury and that he quit the team. I don't know how he would be able to go JUCO if he can't play because of the knew injury.

He is suppose to be fine after the rehab. If he quits the team and sits out the year, he could just transfer to Tennessee the following season right? Wouldn't lose a year of eligibility and would be a redshirt sophomore?

Would it even be transferring if he sat out the year? Couldn't a team just offer him a scholarship and not worry about LSU interfering?

My limited understanding is if he was enrolled in the fall semester at LSU he would be eligible in January of 11. May be wrong but I think that's why you saw the Miami backup QB's leave just before the season started. They did not enroll this fall so the Smith kid can play next fall for Tiger High.

Im good friends with Jason Witten and he somehow is always on top of recruiting even though hes busy making millions but anyways he asked me if i had heard about this yesterday so i assume it will happen. He is hurt as of right now though.

A 3* LS- WHO reject!!! Not interested, what we need from Louisiana is Trovon Reed. As much as I enjoy the Vols stealing something from "inbred nation", this kid does not measure up to what Kiff has on the way. We have to stop thinking in Fulmer terms, getting excited about 3* transfers from Below Sea level University. Stealing Prater from SC is more in line with CLK!!! GO VOLS BIT-H THE BRUINS!!!!!!!!!

I think as long as he enrolls before the cutoff date this semester he will be eligible so it better happen fast.

Reed would be amazing. His film last year is just sick. One of the best films IMHO that I have seen in this years class. Better than Prater's

Thankfully you're not a talent evaluator. You don't even evaluate talent yourself. You just go by what other people rated him. So, Kurt Warner - UNI, Joe Flacco - Delware, Terrel Owens - UTChatt, Tom Brady - Michigan bench etc. all suck? Also, maybe you missed the part where LSU fans said he has been one of their best receivers in scrimmages and the kid is only only a sophomore this season. 6'3 and runs a 4.45. Your logic is flawed my man. You can bash LSU all you want but they have more BCS championships, more recent championships, had a winning season last year and beat Tennessee the year prior. If you're going to bash LSU and their prospects than how do you feel about Tennessee's? Are our players trash?

You're putting way too much stock in arbitrary rankings from some recruiting site.

wow i thought the LSU board was bad, but you are a true retard. if this is true which it sounds like it is, yall should be excited to get this guy. guys that come to our school are guys that can play ball. youll see that when janzen jackson starts to do his thing. but i undestand your resentment towards "below sea level university" its tough to like a program that has 2 NCs the last 5 years in the same conference as your school.
but im not posting to get yall riled up heres a read about the "3 star reject from LSwho...2theadvocate.com | Featured LSU Stories | Molton proving mettle — Baton Rouge, LA
