LSU vs. Tenn --- Tenn WINS

I just don't see how you guys lose this game. LSU had no offense. I think they've had ONE sustained drive for TD this year. Their QB has thrown twice as many interceptions as touchdowns.

The only time they score seems to be when the opponent turns the ball over giving them short field position or special teams makes something happen.

If you guys take care of the football and keep them from getting possession in Tenn territory... Vols WIN

LSU runs twice as much as they pass. Stop the run and they are dead.

I admit it, I am with you on this one. LSU has not impressed me thus far. I think it is a 50:50 with home field giving LSU a slight edge. I am very thankful it is a day game (2:30 LSU time) so the cajuns won't be rocking quite as hard. Good luck this weekend ducky.

I just don't understand all the negative fans on this board. You've got a great opportunity to win this weekend.

Our patch-work A team played very well against a good Oregon team for about 27 minutes. But we did not have the depth and skill to stay in the game. Now a large number of starters are injured. I think there is a chance that our black sheep squad will beat LSU, but I'm talking long odds. LSU has recruited top classes for years, and right about now, Tennessee can barely make muster. Even giving credit to UAB, I do think that our players and coaches are ashamed of the way they played last week. Maybe a light will come on, with a major gut check. Go Volunteers!!!

A journalist who has followed SEC football all his life told me earlier this week that Tennessee has 8 SEC caliber players on the roster. The slide took a while, the rebuild will take a while. Not say we won't surprise somebody this year and LSU could be a prime candidate because their inconsistent offensive attach. However, the Tigers have a formidable defense and don't think Chief doesn't want to scorch the earth with the Vols on Saturday. Tough game, but I'm optimistic. Otherwise let's just home.

That journalist is not smart. We're not very good right now but we have plenty of SEC caliber players, just not much experience.

Just a bunch of impatient people (mostly young) that are under the impression that winning just happens... they don't appreciate that it requires experience, time/practice, and that a team can actually improve from one week to the next..... one year to the next. They want immediate results and gratification. Its silly.

. Its sad.

this is very true, especially the "they want immediate results and gratification".
If they carry this mentality throughout life, they will be on there 5th marriage by 40, in the soup line...yadda yadda yadda....

I am picking the vols on my board I am on this week to win. I want them to win always, but also need not to lose my $$$$ on this year long board we do ;)

GO VOLS!!!

I think we have a great shot at winning, if we can be successful on 3rd down on both sides of the ball for a change

LSU's offense bogs down on long drives.
They shorten the field with superior special team play.
Punt to the corners and kick off through the end zone.
Keep the ball away from Peterson.
Lengthen the field and double your chances.
But, easier said than done.

It'll be nice for them to win, it can happen, so I leave it at that. Also I'm only 15 so I never experience Tennessee winning anything major. :(

this hit last year when LA TECH played ElEssEwe.

YouTube - Chad Boyd Lights up Toliver

Miles whined to the SEC commissioner and the WAC commissioner and got a 1/2 a game suspension on Tech's Chad Boyd.

Dooley, the Tech AD and football coach, was livid with Miles.

So . . . . there's extra fire this year at Baton Rouge.

Good luck this weekend, I'll be keeping a close eye on the game..... (as much as possible). I'll probably be stuck in traffic going to the Stanford vs. Oregon game.

The main highway from Portland to Eugene is I-5, game time is 5 PM Pacific and with "Game Day" in town people who didn't leave early Friday morning for the game will be in for a real mess on the highways. Then toss in that OSU plays at home as well at 3:30 pm, that puts both sets of fans on the highway Saturday at the same time. We don't like each other a whole lot, then put all of us in cars on the highway at the same time and lets just say "occasionally" words get exchanged. OSU fans in their Camrys and pickups and Oregon fans in their Mercedes and BMWs.

I'll probably head out for Eugene around 10 am, it's normally a little less than 2 hours driving (110 miles of interstate) and it will likely take me 4 hours or more Saturday.

Of course the State of Oregon will put every patrol officer they have on I-5 for the "after game" traffic. They gotta make budget and that's easy targeting. Of course some of it is really necessary.

goducks are you smoking some kind of weird northwestern grass? I think LSU could beat Tenn by punting on 1st down every possession. LSU's passing game has been horrific, but even if their passing attack is below average, they will still dominate Tenn. Please kick the ball the Peterson; he has another heisman pose for ya.

No smoke here. The smoke and mirrors are in Baton Rouge.

if there is a bigger gimmick school in the NCAA than Oregon let me know... the best thing they have going for them is the fact they can choose from 37 different combinations of ugly @ss uniforms.

games are unpredictable and just about every team will have ups and downs throughout the season. UAB game is not necessarily a prime indicator of how we will perform for the next 8 games or so. I still believe we'll have at least 1 breakout/signature upset.

this actually happened in year 2000 under Nick Saban. he got beat by UAB, but then a week later he beat a very good Tennessee team loaded with pro bowlers.
then in 07 Saban stomped SEC East winning Tennessee team 41-17. then we all know what happened after.(rolled over by Lousiana-Monroe)
I'm not saying Dooley=Saban or anything, just giving out a few example.

Hey man, welcome to the boards. Are you a La Tech fan?

We don't need pity picks from oregon. Don't they have any boards of their own?

I'm curious where you think "pity" comes into it. I picked you guys over LSU "Before" the season started.

As I've said all along, this is your board and I try and be very respectful of Volnation when I post here. If you'd like please check out any of my posts on here.

I stand by what I've said before. I think Tenn matches up very well against LSU.

Actually, it's 384 different combinations, but who's counting. Or were you saying they have 347 cool combinations (384-37=347)

A journalist who has followed SEC football all his life told me earlier this week that Tennessee has 8 SEC caliber players on the roster.

Let's see here.
RB- Poole
WR- Moore, Jones, Hunter, Rogers
TE- Stocker
Oline- D Thomas, J James
DLine- Hughes, Walker, Miller, Jackson, Smith, Williams
LB- not really sure we have much real talent here. (Thompson maybe)
DB-Jackson, Gordon, Teague.

I have about 18 at least.
