LSU made big news signing Wrs Baron Brown of Ky & Nick Anderson of OU outta the portal. Both cost big money & are in the top 10 paid WRs in the SEC. So far Brown has 30 catches for 350+ yards 1 TD. Anderson has 10 catches for 75+ yds & 2 TDs.

LSU also bought two big money edge defenders, Pyburn from Fla & Payton from FSU. Together they have 2.5 sacks & 16 total solo tackles.

all 4 of these guys were malcontents at their previous schools, entered the portal & got huge money but nothing else changed. Perfect example of how you best beware & know what you’re buying. Buy just to buy isn’t good.

Yes, Kelly has made some terrible personnel moves. DBs Chestnut, dude from A&M, and Toviano were all problematic. He brought not one but 2 talented RBs who got in trouble with the law, no longer on team this season. Knew he lost a lot on the OL last year; so, brought in a couple of meh guys, and swore all is good now.

When you give immature kids obscene amounts of money, you more than likely erase their competitive attitude and work ethic. You've effectively removed the carrot and the stick holds no sway anymore. Stupid.

No guarantee that you can fill your needs in the portal. High school recruiting and development is still the answer. And if you can get a currently available great talent, then you take. More bad than good is in the portal. It's a supplement, not a main source.

He should have invested in OL. That OL is straight garbage.

I feel like you don't need to overpay to get a starting caliber WR or RB in the portal. That money is better spent on OL and DL.

He brought these 4 star transfers in:
DE: 3
DT: 1
OL: 2

no idea what he spent, but he wasn't ignoring the lines.
