In 2017, LSU lost to Troy. Now they are National Champions.

The tides are changing for us on The Hill. Perhaps our GA State loss will prove similar.

GBO!
Thanks to a state absolutely loaded with high level D1 talent and a QB having a great awesome "once in a lifetime" year. We do not have the same luxury with in-state talent.

Stranger things have happened. Therefore, I'm replacing my 2019 season prediction of A Season of Strange Sights and Implausible Wonders with the 2020 take of: The Season of Stranger Things Heretofore Unseen.

They lost to a 2017 Neal Brown coached Troy. That team would blow the brakes off Ga State. We play Troy this year. Troy Alum as well.
The Neal Brown that just went like 4-8 in the worst Power 5 league in the nation?

That same Neal Brown Troy program that lost to South Alabama, Boise State x2, Liberty, App State, Arkansas State, and Georgia Southern?

Yeah, real powerhouse.

They were equal losses, and that coach has accomplished absolutely nothing aside from being a down syndrome, slogan slinging version of Butch Jones. LSU came a long way in 2 years and so can we.

5-7, but who's counting? I'm not sold on Neal Brown as a big time head coach, but 5-7 his first year at WVU with no talent or resources is not terrible either. It's going to be hard for anyone to win consistently at that school.

And how do you think the talent on that LSU team compared to the talent on the 2019 Tennessee team?

Either way, it was a premier program losing to a former FCS school in a game it should have won big, while undergoing a rebuild/culture change with a relatively new coach.

Troy went 11-2 that year. Let me know the last time we won 11 games. On any given year Boise St, App St and Georgia Southern could beat us as well. Last time we played Troy we barely won with the most prolific UT offense almost ever, albeit the worst UT defense ever. Troy goes along with the App States and GA Southerns of the world who you dont want to schedule as a cupcake. They have been bad as of lately though.

They always had the talent but NEVER the QB. It's amazing what a really good QB can do to a team. They've been a QB away for like 10 years lol.

No, but Tennessee is getting much more competitive with in-State talent. We can build an SEC roster with our top guys staying home and the national recruiting we’ve always had.
