LSU Game In 1926 Was Neyland's Signature Win

Prior to 2000, we actually had a very favorable history with LSU.

My dad is 81, and he still says that his all time favorite regular season Tennessee victory was the 14-13 win over LSU in 1959. LSU was ranked #1, and on a 19 game winning streak. That was LSU's 8th game of the '59 season and they had only allowed 9 points going into that game.

1926 win over LSU by Neyland may have been huge (I have no idea how prominent LSU was back then), but it was the win over Bama in 1926 that made Neyland and put UT on the map. As I read endlessly in columns by Ben Byrd of the Knoxville Journal back in the 80s. :D
