LSU Fans are Vol Fans now (thread)

This is stupid maybe since we have a little extra in the athletic fund Butch needs Hart to send LSU a check for the lost home game and the SEC needs to force them to buy out their cupcakes and play NOV 19th... This is an embarrassment that anyone is considering playing non-conference cupcake games with championship implications in the balance for this game.

I've always like those crazy bastages in the west FYI. Not when we're playing each other, of course. I hate the Mississippi schools, and the bama schools hatred goes without saying. Maybe it's because I'm partial to the libations, but I've always had a good time with them.

If they end up rescheduling the game, I'm going to the nearest LSU bar and ordering a round for all the LSU fans and cheering my ass off for the tigers.

The SEC is going to have to make LSU give up the South Alabama game, but if they can do that they should be able get it rescheduled.

Yeah, always liked LSU and A&M (the latter even before the joined the SEC). Good on 'em, even if it's mostly about opportunism. :)

Geaux Vols, cherie!

If they had a couple of more days to work with, they could have the game in Baton Rouge. And then let Florida host a couple of home games in a row to make up for it.

Maybe not, It will cost LSU about 5-6 million. Have to pay USA 1.5 millon, buy another team and lose revenue from a home game being given up. Florida will lose about 425,000. Plus USA is having a good year and will want an extra game also...

Will not happen but LSU offered to play game at Death Valley and Florida refused repeatedly. SEC should have step in or make Florida forfeit...

I heard LSU offered to play them on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday in Baton Rouge but UF refused. Also that LSU would have chartered a plane and reserved hotel rooms. Any truth to that?

I hate LSU because of 2001. I'll always hate them.

It was not their fault, I repeat NOT THEIR FAULT!! We played like S---. They played like a team that wanted to win. I thought it was the worst case of sportsmen ship I have ever seen from a UT team.

I'd like to see where you're getting your numbers. They don't have to buy another team, though. They just would get one less cupcake game. Both they and UF would just have 11 total games on the year.

And I'm sure USA would be happy to play a game against Presbyterian with an NCAA waiver

They supposedly offered to play on Sat/Sun in Baton Rouge, but the SEC cited that the biggest issue would be traveling when they're unsure what the aftermath of this storm would be (whatever the conditions were after the storm, UF would have about a day to get 150 or more plus equipment ready for that trip).

ESPN has also reported that to make up for being postponed due to weather, UF offered to cancel its game against Presbyterian on Nov. 19, saying that LSU could cancel its game against South Alabama and the two would play their game that date (the week before UF plays FSU and the week before LSU plays A&M). However, at this point, LSU had refused to drop the South Alabama home game and do such.
