They also get to play the Mississippi schools and we get to play Vandy and Kentucky every single season. Not sure of their record against those guys but we are something like 51-3 in the last 27 or so years in those last two games...

The other point is that Florida has little to no history (two or less decades--is their fight song really the theme to JAWS?) and LSU has a streaky one at best. So you can understand them not wanting to get caught up in the Tennessee-Alabama, third Saturday in October thing. It's meaningless to either of them--history that is.

Yeah Florida and LSU are both what's called "new money" they hadn't done much of anything before the 90's, so they don't really grasp the power of the tradition

LSU had, but florida has only been important since spurrier; however, has made great leaps and bounds since 92. Flavor of the week if you ask me..... "please Vols dont let me down"

He is not blasting UT. The Tennessee-Alabama Rivalry is the MAIN reason the conference is using this locked-in system. That's why he referenced them.

It has gotten really sad when all programs have to worry about is who they are matched up with year in and year out. What ever happened to the " if you want to be the best you have to beat the best " motto. Let's just all schedule crap teams so we can be undefeated and hope other teams screw up!

Those beads around the LSU ADs neck must be cutting off oxygen to his brain.Doesn't LSU have a few more NCs to go to catch 6? And uh I think they are still about 7 or 8 games below the .500 mark head to head all time against Tennessee.

He's not saying he'd rather LSU play TN here "because it's an easier game" (because that'd make less sense honestly)*

he's complaining about the system, with a perception of his school being dragged into having to play a specific game - one with no real desire - because (to him) 4 other schools (Bama, UT, UGA, and Auburn) have games they want to continue playing. *It's honestly more a complaint towards both of those games and the system they established as opposed an opposing team's schedule.

Pretty much he's more saying (if people want a louder, angrier than need be interpretation) "if all those f-----s want to keep playing each other so badly, schedule an out of conference game; there's no reason my school/team should be forced into doing things their way just to meet the whims of another school"

That's your interpretation, mine is he is crying because he has to play FL every year and Alabama gets a cake walk. That is a direct slap at Tennessee and a back handed slap at Bama. If he wants to man up, let him put The UT on his schedule every year as a non-conference game. I think that in about 2 years people would have a moving van in his front yard. LSUseless needs to develop some tradition other than Friday night road trips to Bourbon St.

Per Bear Bryant, there is no rivalry in college football as storied as Alabama and Tennessee. So all of the rivalry haters and the freaking LSUseless supporters can kiss my entire orange and crimson backside.

I get it now... if LSU hadn't had to play Florida they would have beaten Bama in the NC game.:happy:

Here's the deal in 1992 when the SEC expanded Bama and TN wanted to keep their rivalry and Auburn/Georgia theirs. LSU and Florida had no traditional rivals, at least in conference (FL v FSU) so they (LSU/FL) got matched up. Prior to '92 Tennessee had no long standing rivalry with either Georgia or Florida but hey we have developed one and now most fans on both sides of those games look forward to them. Don't know why LSU can't embrace the game and make it their Bama/TN type game. I don't have a vote but if LSU wants to whine like a pre-teen girl about their lot in life let 'em play La. Tech. every year and call it a league game for all I care. I mean get over it - it runs in cycles and LSU will be a 4-7 loser again before we know it. :thumbsup:

This is still costing Duke money. I don't expect anything other than what we are hearing from that whinny B. I didn't connect the dots when he was mentioned as an AD candidate. I would have burned my diplomas and never gone back to campus if that had happened.

wow hes talking smack to Tennessee i mean last time i checked didn't we cross the 50 against Alabama ? and im surprised the AD can even talk smack after that Tee Bagging decedent he was involved in hahaha

Got this thought from the Fulmer thread......they don't want to play FL cause when FL is on, Chavis can't stop FL's offense. Read the last few posts in the Fulmer thread for proof.

Dont see this as a slight to Tennessee...Does anyone know why they dont like the permenant cross div rival games? Cant beleive they feel so much love towards the rest of us in the east that they want to play us more often.
