Low point in Jones' rebuilding project

7 - 5 or 6 - 6 and we're going bowling this year!

South Carolina, Missouri, Vandy and Kentucky are beatable. WE'RE NOT A TOP 25 OR EVEN 30 TEAM right now and that's what it would've taken for us to have a real chance against Oklahoma, Ole Miss and tonight against Bama.

Stay positive, hope nobody gets hurt too badly and we will be in a position to win out AFTER tonight - heck, we might even be FAVORED TO WIN A COUPLE.
I sure hope you are right. Matter of fact I pray you are. But so far we look like a tie with vandy for last place.

The way I am looking at it is that after the Bama game Tennessee has four games left in regular season to win three...not impossible....yet, it depends on how the Offense plays against the teams they can actually have success against. Remember...its not over until the fat lady sings....

True...but let's hope we don't have to win 3 in a row. When was the last time we did that?

I agree. Personally, I'm expecting the worst tonite, to avoid disappointment. However, because I'm a VOL fan, I leave the "any given Saturday" theory open for surprise!!!

GBO!!!

It will be the worst you have ever seen on our offense but it is expected. I won't be upset. It's the next four after tonight that will piss me off but I expect to lose 2⃣ of those. This will not be one of those "any given". Just being real

Right now Kentucky is giving the #1 team in the country a run for their money. They look pretty darn good.

Missouri stomped the hell out of Florida. We let Florida get away.

If Tennessee loses to Vandy (again), it's gonna get ugly around here. If Robinette is back as Vandy's QB, that game might be a pick 'em.

It's slim pickins in K-town right now.

I honestly don't think we win another game except Vandy this year. Some people that think we beat Mo, Sc and Ky are watching some other team that I've watched this year. What I don't understand is why Jones didn't see this coming with the O-line and emphasize getting better linemen? Tired of hearing ,but we're playing two true freshmen! Jones didn't have to play them! I think they dropped the ball recruiting Blair.Shouldn't have recruited a Juco that couldn't contribute right away! We're playing 3 RSJR's.I understand they don't have many game reps but they shouldn't be this bad. They've had 4 YEARS in a S&C program!

I'm sorry, but this is utter nonsense. You play the best players you've got.

I like Butch and hope he gets us going in the right direction. I think he's gonna have to find another O-line coach. His recruiting has been spectacular everywhere except Qb and O-line. I understand Qb and O-line are developmental positions, but where's the development? They've gotten worse.

This is a fair criticism. I'm watching Kentucky. The reason they are competitive is that they have a very good QB. We don't seem capable of developing one of those anymore.

I question Bajakian more than Mahoney.

And I will honestly believe that Kentucky beats us in Neyland when I see it...I think you are jumping the gun just a bit. Miss State will win big.

Nope. Kentucky is a better team than we are. I can't believe what I'm seeing. If we do end up beating them, it will be due to luck, not coaching.

Yea KY has impressed me a little. Thought MSU would blow them out.KY played with them. You're right about Bajakian as well.I just hope Butch's loyalty to Bajakian and Mahoney doesn't cost him. That's the only 2 coaches I see red flags with.Well let's hope the football gods are lookin down on us tonight. Go vols!!!!!!

Losing to the top 10 ranked teams this year is "acceptable" as he rebuilds. Losing to a pitiful Florida team two years in a row and being out coached by Muschamp - not so much. Losing to UGA, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and quite possibly Bama with this team is never ok but truly understandable this year - but losing again to Missouri or Kentucky is never acceptable. Coaches need to adapt to the team and find ways to win

Satan Jr changed his offensive schemes mid season to help crompton become successful and got us to a bowl game I'm still looking for some ingenious coaching by the greatest staff in the country (defense is shaping up and doing well -- offense drinks for second year in a row)

A good coach must be able to adjust!!!!

Stoops has shown this season that he can coach. I was making fun of him and thought he was a joke hire. Watch him be the guy that gets hired to Florida. He is impressive.

Might as well get ready cause the haters are gonna have a lot of ammo for the remainder of this year. Sucks but its true. Im sure there are more of you like me that will avoid Volnation after this game, so any outsiders that come on here will be overwhelmed with the negativity (or truth as they will call it). Im gonna do my best not to judge this staff untill 2016, if they arent winning at least 9 or 10 games by then, they deserve any and all criticism they get.
Fair enough. I start judging next year and I consider no bowl in 2015 fireable. We're all on the same page just working with different time tables.

Ky has a QB that makes plays. We don't. That's the difference.

Yes, a defensive mastermind giving up 200 yards rushing to some guy not named Gurley, Yeldon, or Henry was quite amazing.

I didn't say anything about his defense. It's his offense that looks good. They scored more against Miss State than we did, even though we have more talent on paper.

This performance was no better than ours against UGA. But we all love the delusional fans in here.
