Lovie Smith is an idiot

Instead of trying to provide an example that doesn't even make sense, how about you tell me how it worked out for the Pats last year?

And yeah, it's really me against the world...it's not like you saw a lot of Mark Brunell and Brian Hoyer today or anything, genius. Nope, the best coach in the NFL doesn't agree with me at all.

Brady and the Pats offense is a bit more fine-tuned than what the Bears are running. Lovie probably felt his team wasn't ready for the playoffs. Hard to argue with him.

I don't thibk the defense needed an extra half of practice. And I don't think that half did much to help the offense either; they just have a crappy line.

Without trying to be a smartass, can anyone give me an example of a player getting injured late in the year when the players should have been rested?

I am origionally from Chicago, but grew up in Maryville,Tn. To give you guys some perspective, the Bears beating the Packers is just as important as the Vols beating Florida or Alabama. During Lovie's initial press conference as the Bears head coach, he told the Chicago faithful his first goal was to beat the Packers. I, as a Bears fan, commend CLS for keeping his word. He gave the Bears a chance to win today, and possibly eliminating Green Bay from the playoffs! Bring it on haters. If you don't get it you are a moron. GO BEARS!!!

Why does Lovie care what the fans think? And how did that help their Super Bowl chances?

Are you a damn Bears fan? If not shut the hell up...seriously. What business is it of yours? Who gives a damn about Wes Welker, I sure as hell don't.

Indy looked like crap last year when they rested them in the last cpl of weeks of the season. I am glad the Starters stayed in. It does give a team momentum, it gives them the chance to go against LIVE competition. I never seen a non fan ***** so much about a team he said he hopes loses.

They were wanting to win the game, but they weren't putting all of the wrinkles that you normally see in a Mike Martz offense. It didn't help that they blitzed all night, but that's ok, they can go back and watch the film and see what they did wrong and come out firing in their divisional game. I hope it's Green Bay and Chicago in the NFC championship at Soldiers Field.

If you are a Bears fan, you're not making them look too smart..."Yeah, that Pro Bowler is good but he isn't on MY team, so I'll just be too dense to learn anything from it until the day Urlacher goes down."

Again, it wouldn't be until the NFC Championship at home. And they're scared of that? But not worried about playing at Atlanta? Hmm...

And now Green Bay looks like the best team in the playoffs. There is a lot to fear if that team gets rolling.

Sure, but I don't know how that justifies pkaying starters with nothing to gain...regardless of whether it's the Packers, Falcons, or New York Giants the Bears were likely going to lose this game...

LOL! When the Packers beat the Bears to advance to the Super Bowl, then you'll probably finally understand that Lovie Smith isn't quite as dumb as you thought. He was trying to eliminate one of the most dangerous teams in the league from the playoffs when he had the chance.

Oh, and BTW, Duke sucks too!

Someone obviously didn't read the post they quoted, where I said pretty clearly the Bears would lose no matter who they play...you really made yourself look smart there

You're the only one here that doesn't look very bright. The fact that the Bears suck doesn't mean that they shouldn't have taken the opportunity to eliminate one of the best teams in the NFC when given the chance. There was plenty to gain by beating the Packers in that game. You're the only one that doesn't seem to grasp that concept. To the shock of everyone, the logic somehow eludes you.

Well, since I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about, why don't you clue me in on how that Week 17 loss is helping them right now?
