Don't let the 2star fool you, its the most Rivals, Scout, etc give deep snappers. Normally they don't get any stars so the fact that Riley Lovingood rates 2 stars should tell you something. The kid is a snapping machine and is rated as the top deep snapper in the country by several who judge them.. His snaps are precise lase up bullets that average almost a half second faster than the average punt snap. (that's about a 4 or 5 yard difference for someone trying to block that punt. Butch wants the best and when the best deep snapper in America is in his own backyard, he had to get him.. Auburn, Ga, and others were all offering. Add to that that Riley is a lifelong Vol, who really dislikes Vandy, and he is a class act, the kind who will be an asset to the team and the lockeroom. Kid practices his snaps like a pro golfer practices his swings..

Butch isn't recruiting in D2 players like Dooley did so if you get an offer from UT now, that means you're pretty darn good

Hahaha. My thoughts exactly. But in all honesty, it is so nice to have a coaching staff that is attentive to the details in the game. So often a win comes down to one or two plays. Many times it is a special teams play. I am so fired up about team 119!

Everything matters.People forget one of the heros of the year was the kid from Morristown who got down the snap on the extra point that put the south Carolina to
overtime.

If an NFL team pays long snappers then a scholarship is warranted. We should get four years out of him and if keeps the Gators from blocking another punt then money well spent.

If #Volnation has not seen the improvement on special teams since butches arrival, then they have no Idea how much of an asset Riley will be for us. He will be a part of the championships to soon arrive.
One of many pieces, pieces to form one.
Kinda like how we would not have beat Iowa, if the holder didn't pull down a high snap & turn the ball to kick that important extra point vs South Carolina.....
You can win a game or two with special teams, & lose them that way too.
Enjoy your time at The University of Tennessee.

The volume and depth of knowledge by poters on VN is astounding. How you and others know so much about these high school students is a mystery to me. Thanks for the profile of this young man. He sounds like a tremendous addition.

Also, Riley was a HS teammate of Hurd, blocking for him as a standard center.
