I am really looking forward to watching the man who should've been the backup running back last year finally get his shot. The man who stuck with this program even though he got completely snubbed by Kiffin. The man who honored his commitment and decided that if he worked hard, he would eventually get his shot. The man who may not be 6'0 220 with 4.4 speed, but has a better shot at becoming a great player than the boy that clicked his heels and ran back to Kansas. Thanks Tauren. You sincerely bleed orange.

I have looked forward to seeing Tauren Poole since he was added to his recruiting class. I believe he is from Toccoa, Ga or somewhere close. Same place as James Brown. Maybe he can do a little James Brown dance for us when he scores.

For all the talk about X and his coaching not playing Poole was the worst thing I ever saw...he ran hard and you could see he has heart. I am glad we have him....put it on his shoulders and BAM! :clapping:

I'm a Tauren Poole supporter. I've talked him up since he was a freshman here at UT. But...

What is everyone going to say if he still has the fumbling issues that plagued him last season?

That's what kept him out of the #2 spot last season.

Certainly makes more sense than all of the "Kiffin screwed him" conspiracy theories that have been floating around here for 4 months.

Are you talking about Bryce Brown?:)

Not possible, the only reason TP wasn't in the running for the Heisman, was because he was being held down by LK. It had nothing to do with his abilities or performance during practice.

I am looking forward to Poole finally being given a "real" chance. He wants to be a Vol and somewhere hasn't it been mentioned that some of the players felt he was never treated fairly by the last staff. That the other staff would make sure "their" recruit would be at least #2. Here's to hoping that Poole has an outstanding year.

actually James Brown is from Augusta, Ga but he lived in Toccoa during the 1950's. he and his band played at my mother's Jr/Sr prom Toccoa High School in 1957(how cool is that?) and yes Tauren is from Toccoa as well. wouldn't be surprised to see a flag thrown when TP goes into the checkerboards for the first time this year. LOL

wouldn't be surprised to see some TP for TP scoring. Like a major white out. that would be cool.

Same reason Oku was ahead of him too i guess. No politics there .

Why you guys need to use logic instead of harping on Kiffin incessantly? That's not what we program here!

Yeah, Oku got 1 more carry per game than Poole. Oh the horror!

Let's play football and see what Poole can do. Oku as well. I get the feeling that you hope Poole can't produce. Just from reading your posts...you come across as anti Tennessee and pro Kiffin.

Most hype I've ever seen for an upperclassman who has not done anything meaningful in his career since Crompton prior to 08. I do feel Tauren's solid, but the talk of Kiffin not playing him because of some hidden agenda is silly.
