Love for Pruitt

The main reason I love Pruitt is that we steal him from the gumps. After reading through their forums two things come up:
1. They hate that he is leaving
2. They despise that he's coming to UT, and I LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT.

Let's do this guys. I am pumped. Screw the dirty gumps.

Let me also add. I currently live in Gumpland HQ (Tuscaloosa). They truly despise me here :)

UT Vols: Jeremy Pruitt mulling offer for Tennessee job, per report

Some highlights:

Pruitt is in his second season as Alabama's defensive coordinator after two years in the same position at Georgia. His first year as a defensive coordinator was in 2013 at Florida State. The Seminoles led the nation in scoring defense that season en-route to a national championship. He was a finalist that year for the Broyles Award, given to the nation's top assistant.

During Pruitt's five seasons as a defensive coordinator, he's never presided over a defense that ranked lower than 16th nationally in scoring defense. Alabama has ranked first nationally in scoring defense the past two seasons.

Nick Saban tapped Pruitt to be his coordinator after Georgia hired Kirby Smart off Saban's staff in December 2015.


"There was no doubt who I was going to hire," Saban said of Pruitt then, according to Al.com. "Didn't interview anybody. Didn't talk to anybody. Just hired the guy."

"It was a no-brainer for me to bring Jeremy back," Saban added. "He also did a great job of recruiting while he was here."

I liked the post and all of these are very solid, sound, reasonable reasons to like him. HOWEVER, the main reason is it upsets the gumps on a meltdown type level...And that excites me.

The Alabamian fan base is SALTY over this. Calling him a traitor and stuff. Man. Fulmer came out of retirement and **** on Alabama one last time. Hahah.

Amazing stuff.

One other very cool thing about Pruitt: When Saban would go over and chew out Kiffin or even Smart on the sidelines, 9 times out of 10 they would be quiet and take it. When he'd do that with Pruitt, Pruitt would jump right back 4 out of 5. There were times however when he would remain quiet, which suggests he has at least some humility and can admit when he is wrong.

I hear you, l am an hour north of Tuscaloosa ... they are all whining here too...l love it!! 😂🤣
