Louisville??

I hate when opposing fans have no ****ing clue. At least bring it harder.

I think UL wins, but this is a 50/50 toss up. Louisville is a better match up for us than Butler, although the Ville is more talented. They don't cause that many turnovers, they're prone to turning it over, they don't offensive rebound better than average, and they don't get to the free throw line very much. Good match up for us.

Louisville has done nothing to deserve the hype and preference by the media to win against us besides beat two inferior tournament teams, lose their last two games before that and lose 8 games overall. That said, they are a very tough team. We should beat them though. We are deeper except at PG and we won't keep having off nights from our shooters like we have recently. Time to play the game and see.

Stay and hang out man. Tell us what you think about Edgar Sosa.

Edgar Sosa has the potential to be special. He could end up being one of the best point guards to walk through the doors at Louisville or he could end being one of the worst.

Sometimes he just seems lost to me. I do agree that he has a lot of potential. The freshman, Knowles, has been pretty solid. But he's the player I know the least about.

We definitely have better shooting guards than you all, but our point guard situation is what it is.

Louisville fan here.

First, I would like to say that IDontKnow has obviously not seen Tyler Smith play. The guy is a monster.

About the UL-UT matchup... I like Louisville's chances against Tennessee. More so than if they had to play Butler. I have seen UT play three times this year and it seems to me that they play a streetball brand of basketball. Louisville is a very disciplined team AND they are just as athletic as UT. Their full court press is suffocating and there are few holes in their 2-3 zone. I think the game will come down to whether or not the Cards can hit their open shots. If they've been shooting the way they have in the tourney so far, I think we win. Should be a great game though. Cant wait.

Welcome to the board. I can't wait either.

The thing that struck me about Louisville is that when they played georgetown and pitt they didn't seem to know who to get the ball at the end of the game. No doubt they are strong defensively, but can they score when they need to? Because I have a feeling that this game could be close.

Tennessee hasnt played a great game yet in this tournament. UT needs to play a great game to win. If both teams are at their best, I give the nod to UT. Unfortunately, Louisville is less sporadic than UT and is much more likely to bring their A game.

Once again people obviously show the ability to not be able to read. Not once did I say that Tyler Smith wasn't good. I think him and Earl Clark are very, very good players who will have long careers. But, I think E5 would win this match up because of his length and ability to blow by his defender.

Dude, EC is a good player but no where near the complete player Tyler Smith is.

Again you are showing your ignorance. Tyler Smith is long and has a better ability to blow by his defender than Clark does. Throw in he has a nice jumpshot, great post moves and a turn around fade that is unstoppable and you come to the conclusion that Tyler is a much better offensive player than Clark. Go look at some stats and do some homework before you come over here spouting off that nonsense. If you want to say that Clark is a better defender, go ahead. He probably is but it is debatable. Tyler is the better offensive players and that is not debatable.

Youre definitely right in that insight. If the game goes down to the wire, I dont feel good about our chances. First of all, we are a very poor FT-shooting team. We also dont really have a go-to-guy. We score points either in transition or in the halfcourt set. If we have the ball down by 1 with 6 seconds left, I really dont know who we give the shot to...

Yeah, that's a good idea. I can't have a civilized conversation with a bunch of homers.

might want to take a look in the mirror bro lol, you come here and spew ******** and act like you know our team when you don't and then try and call us homers lol

Well your free throw shooting could be your downfall because we tend to get called for many fouls.

man, you are the biggest homer posting in this thread. At least the other Cards guy has been objective and has listened to what other people have told him about UT. If we don't say that Louisville is better at every position you try to play the homer card against us, even though you are wrong in several points of your so-called analysis. That's weak.

If Clark blows by people and shoots it well, seems to me that Ul would not be such a weak offensive team. However, it's nearly universally acknowledged that you are a very iffy offensive squad.

I'm not a homer. I haven't called you out on anything except for your disrespect (or ignorance most likely) of Tyler Smith. You obviously don't watch many teams outside of Louisville. Clark is an athletic freak and can jump out the gym but lacks a polished offensive game and jump shot. Tyler Smith is what Clark wants to be when he develops a little more on the offensive side. Tyler Smith is one of the most well rounded offensive players in the country. We lead the nation in assists and Tyler leads our team in assists. Just think about how unheard of that is.

This is not a knock on Clark, you are just grossly underestimating Tyler.

At KenPom's site, there is a rating for players called Offensive Rating. It's basically a number that tells how good a player is offensively - points, off. boards, assists, turnovers, everything.

Clark has a 98.6 (which I need to note is really bad).

Tyler has a 118.7, which ranks 106th in the country (amazing)
