I look for the starlet tights to lose at WV...big east is kind of like the SEC this year...bumpin' each other off...

Very impressive.

Very difficult to shut out Louisville for an entire half... but Rutgers did it.

I agree. The only real goal of the BCS is to create a scenario where the #1 plays #2. It has worked.

I don't agree that it hasn't worked right. Other than 2000, when Miami beat FSU but somehow got passed over for a Championship Game spot, what year didn't the system work?

I don't know that FSU was the 2nd best team in the country in 1998, you mention 2000, I don't think Oklahoma was a better team than Auburn in 04. USC might have been the 2nd best team the year they got left out.

In short, it's still guesswork about who deserves the shot.

Oklahoma's resume in '04 dwarfed Auburn's. Oklahoma shut out a Texas team that was two touchdowns better than anyone Auburn beat all year.

I still think Auburn was the better team and most likely would have shown better against USC than OU did.

Auburn starting at a 16 ranking vs. OU's had as much to do with it as anything.

Huge win for Rutgers. The Ville had them buried and didn't finish them off. Now if Rutgers runs the table the BCS gets even crazier...lol

No, Auburn playing the Citadel and other nonconference trash sealed their fate. They got exactly what they deserved.

We'll never know due to the wonderous BCS system.

And I find it hard to believe Auburn would have done WORSE against USC than OU did.
USC physically destroyed them in Auburn the year before. I'm pretty sure OU would have been much more competitive if the Orange Bowl had been played in Norman.

That Auburn team lost 4 or 5 games. Totally different team.
Same QB, same RBs, probably 16 of 22 regulars from the year before. That Auburn team is like the Confederate Army. They get to blather on about how they "could've been." The fact is they didn't deserve a shot and should shut the hell up until they win a meaningful nonconference regular season game. They're a gutter program with gutter fans.

OU '04 and OU '05. I think the BCS performance was a clear foreshadowing of 05.

I'm talking about the beatdown they got from USC.
If that's the case, then SC's demolition of Auburn on their home field in '04 certainly eliminated the Tigers/Plainsmen/Clemson of the SEC/People Who Marry Outside Their Species from consideration.
