1989 Auburn game when the Cobb-Webb attack was unleashed in the rain.As John Ward said"The crowd will tell you,,,,,Touchdown Big Orange".

Some of the loudest I've ever heard was the ut-cal game, Travis Stephens screen pass vs Uga in 01(even though we lost because of chavis's prevent defense), and the Air Force game on the failed 2pt conversion in the final seconds. Gotta give it to Air Force, that takes some balls. Always go for the w.

This was the loudest I ever remember, and Ive been to many intense games. 98 Fla, 04 Fla, and 01 LSU were all extremely loud also but this one moment will stick out in my mind forever.

I was there also, it was amazing. It was my 1st game in Neyland stadium.

One of the loudest ever and quietest ever all within 42 seconds. After Stephens touchdown CPF called for a squib kick so Georgia was able to take over at their own 41 yard line with no time running off the clock for a return. Maybe the single worst coaching decision Fulmer ever made.

13' Georgia for me. I've heard that 99' ND and 04' Florida were two of the loudest however.

Loudest I ever heard at one moment was 98 sterner fumble, Neyland erupted.
Loudest entire game was 85' vs Auburn. Bo knows he got his azz handed to him.

Bama '82......the only time I've ever thought twice about the structural integrity of the Upper Deck. LOL

Oh and there appears to be a whole lotta love up in here for Phil Fulmer coached teams. Go figure.......:)

The loudest game I have been to was the 2003 South Carolina game when James Banks caught the winning pass in OT. It was loud throughout the game, but when OT started it kicked up a notch. South Carolina had 2-3 false starts in the OT period due to the noise. I was at the South Carolina game last year which was loud at times, but it was no comparison to that 2003 game. I've never been to an Alabama or Florida game, but I am hoping to change that this year.

Its the offseason I'm bored and am feeling a little nostalgic so why don't we share memories.

What is the loudest game you ever attended? Not a specific moment during a game I'm talking from start to finish. I have been to some insane ones 98 Florida, 96 UCLA, 96 Bama, 2004 Florida, 2006 Cal, 2006 UGA

Those were incredible but the one that I remember being the loudest from beginning to end was the 99 ND game crowd. My ears literally were still ringing sunday morning. One of the greatest game experiences I've ever had.

LOL plus I got drunk as hell on Patron after the game but had no hangover in the morning lol. That was a Saturday to remember:rock: Go Vols

Easily the 1982 UT/Bama game....And its not even close :salute:

1998 UF game was the most sustained volume I have ever witnessed. The crowd was in it the whole time and the defense kept responding.

98 UF gets my vote. There was also just this constant feeling that beating them got more and more possible as the game went on. It was a ridiculous night and one of the best games I've experienced

06 Cal was great too. It was like everyone got out their frustrations from 05 on poor Longshore

85 Auburn was my first big upset and first time I saw the goalposts come down. Pretty cool for a 10yo

The loudest I heard Neyland was a game in 1971 when Penn State came down in December to play the Vols. PSU was 9-0 and the Vols were 8-2, with both teams in the top 10. It was a beautiful sunny day (after a snow storm the night before). It was a special day held for the Major's family and their entire family was there. Bobby, who played DBack and punt returner on that team almost single handedly beat the Nittany Lions 31-11! That was the only loss for the Nits that year as they went on to beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl. The Vols also won out with a victory over Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl. (Arkansas was in the old Southwest Conference then!) Along with Major's exploits, Conrad Graham, Bill Rudder and linebackers Jamie Rotella and Art Reynolds had big games. Coach Bill Battle had the Vols fired up and had a very good guard in the name of Phil Fulmer to lead the charge!! A great game. . .

1) 1985 Auburn. I thought the upper deck was going to collapse from all the stomping. Our fans nearly tore down the stadium. By far the loudest and craziest Neyland has ever been.

2) 1982 Alabummer. Again, could literally feel the stadium shaking.

3) 1998 Florida. This game has to be up there with all time loudest. Al Wilson singlehandedly dominated Florida and the crowd just got louder and louder and louder. The after game experience on the field and campus might be the greatest of all time.

4) Arkansas 1998. First half was flat as a pancake and quiet. The second half of that game is arguably the loudest. That fourth quarter was when I knew 1998 team was a team of destiny. Again, Neyland Stadium was rattling....

5) 2006 Cal was very loud, wild and crazy. The Vols completely dominated. The hype that whole week and pregame with all the **** talking by Cal people and team caused a huge ruckus that carried over through the game by fans and obviously the players. That was an exciting day in Neyland. Just a good ol fashioned ass kicking.....

Honorable mention: 1992 Florida game in the absolute rain downpour. It was raining so hard you could barely see the field. The Vols dominated Florida the entire game. Complete dominance!! Usually people leave their seats or run for shelter. Not that day, every body stayed put and didn't care because it was worth every bit of being completely soaked. No one cared. The place was rocking that day despite the weather. Mose Phillips was a hero born that day!!!!

You beat me to it with the '92 Florida game. It seemed like there were more people there after the deluge started than before. That may not have been the loudest Vols game, but it sure was the most fun I can remember having in Neyland.
