Was that before or after he said a possible TWO loss Notre Dame team deserved a NT bid over an undefeated team?

I just heard Rece(sp?), Lou and Mark say that Erik Ainge is a dark horse for the heisman right now.

If people were watching that game, they'd realize he played a pretty damned good second half.

But, screw Heisman talk.

We had a one-point loss to a very good Florida team... So we'll get a pass on it, for sure.

But jumping a Big East team, idk about that. I'm not really buying too much into the new and improved Big East idea, but I do think the conference is better than last season. If there are no other undefeated teams aside from Ville/WVU, then they probably deserve a NT shot.

that horse got a little darker after today

There's no way he even gets to New York for the presentation, now. A one-loss UT player needs to have a tremendous performance every single week in order to garner consideration. If Ainge had played a televised pickup game on ESPN during UT's bye week, that would have helped a little. Still, he has no chance. Had Troy Smith had a similar performance, I'm not sure it would have hurt him that bad. ESPN would rave about 300 passing yards and completely ignore 3 INTs. With Ainge, the exact opposite will happen.

they always say "Heisman contention moments" consist of making the big plays when needed to bring victory to your team. Erik had a bad first half, but stepped up in the second half and did what was needed to get the W for us.

You're right tho, we know UT gets little to no love from the media so it may weigh in negatively regardless of his performance the second half.

He could have thrown 3 TD's today and he would not be in contention for the Heisman. With Adrian Peterson injured, all Troy Smith has to do is go out and play solid and the Heisman is his, especially if OSU beats Michigan.

I understand that people are proud of how Meachem and Ainge have been playing, but neither of them is going to win the Heisman. I'm sorry, but it's just not going to happen. Even Peyton couldn't win it for God's sake.
