His name was Grant Case and he did die in a car crash.

It’s coming back to me now. IIRC, someone messaged him on FB and he said it was his brother posing as him (Grant). Turns out the brother is an officer in the Navy. They look so similar.

That was me. I FB messaged him and asked if he was a poster on FB. He never responded. His brother finally responded to me a couple of years later and said that he died in a car accident.
