Lost a little respect for Peyton

He stormed off the field with seconds left and refused to shake hands with Brees or any of the Saints players!

Poor sportsmanship!!! And Classless!!!

This wasn't classless, this wasn't poor sportsmanship, he just left the field, what's not to say he doesn't call Drew Brees to congratulate him, is he still classless, because you didn't get a chance to see him do it in person?

Please, Admins remove this thread I say....lol

Because the Saints beat the RAMS by 5 points and the Colts clobbered them. Because the Saints needed an onside kick in the third quarter to keep the ball away from Manning. Because the only good reasons that they won are because Peyton was intercepted and the Saints scored after that onside kick. The Saints are alright, but they relied on trick plays and luck to win that one.
Colts barely beat the Patriots, and the Saints clobbered them.

Fun game.

I don't know, if I had just won the Super Bowl, the last thing I'd be thinking about is shaking hands with the team I beat the snot out of. Something tells me they wouldn't be pissing their pants with joy to have us tell them "good game, boys. thanks for helping us make history!"

Also, I think the pick was more of Reggie Wayne's terribad route running and Porter's playmaking than it was Peyton's throwing.

He was pissed. He single handidly cost the colts the game. What do you expect?

You don't notice things very well do you? John Chavis sneaking onto the Colts sideline and changing the defense from pressing to a very soft coverage is what gave the game away. Peyton had to stand on the sideline and watch for almost all the third quarter.

I knew something seemed familiar.

If that had been Brady that stormed off the field a refuse to shake hands with the Colts and Peyton

He would be ripped on here!

Just because I am a UT fan..dosnt mean I will not point out bad sportsmanship.

you must of lost some money on the game.
I guess you being the good guy that you are would of turned flips across the field to shake hands ? yea right.

No way he single handedly cost the game for the colts. There were lots of things that would've changed the outcome of the game ie. dropped passes, bad defense, 3rd down conversions, the list goes on.

As for bad sportsmanship, it could be said that it was. Just as any other sports great that didn't congratulate the winning team like Lebron in the Con. Champ. last year. But he is and will go down as the greatest QB to play.

:lolabove: couldn't have said it better. This game can be used as a reference on.....

How To Play Lackluster Pass Coverage and Design A Loser Defensive Plan :cray:

This may have been posted already, but I was specifically watching for the interaction betweeen the two, and CBS cut to an overhead shot of Brees surrounded by a crowd five deep with boom mikes and cameras. Manning couldn't have gotten to Brees if he wanted to.

Can I get the bandwidth I wasted clicking on this thread?

I agree that Peyton was a poor sport and classless! He could have got to Brees if he wanted to and at least congratulated him! Respect your opponents and be a man! UT doesn't need any more bad press!!!

IIRC, Wayne tweeked his knee in practice before the game and probably contributed to the poor rout on the pick six. As Steve Young said, it's the receivers job to block out the defender, Peyton just threw it to where he was supposed to be. The only ding I'd put on Peyton is the three run plays after the goaline stand before the half. It was too conservative and allowed the Saints to get momentum before the half.

The colts will be back in the super bowl in 2011---Peyton will be on a mission in the offseason. I don't like the colts that much, but I like to see peyton do well.

How utterly stupid can anyone be? If Peyton was not on the Colts team they would not even have a dream of a Super Bowl. He has, and did yesterday, carried that team on his back.

Peyton is only the best player to have played the game. He also does more with less than anyone else with any degree of success has done.

okay, i'm a vol fan to the core, and i like Manning. Peyton is a lot of things, but classless certainly isn't one of them. But with that being said, some of you need to quit worshipping the ground the guy walks on. It's getting ridiculously unhealthy, and i hate to be "that guy", but c'mon. He may hold every single statistic record at UT, and go on to hold every single record in the NFL, but the truth of the matter is, he never won jack squat while he was here with the exception of one SEC title. Nobody is bigger than this program, and some of you guys drool over him worse than the gator fans do over tebow. And as much as i am proud to say that Manning was once a Tennessee Vol, i'm not gonna lie, i was rooting for the saints yesterday. Truthfully, i hate the colts. But i do respect and enjoy watching peyton manning.

I could tell he was crushed. Its tough to make it to the Superbowl, when you get there you had better take advantage of your opportunity. I'm sure that thought was going through his head, along with the interception that sealed the deal. Not saying what he did was right or wrong just saying he was a bit emotional.

So Lebron doesn't shake hands after a playoff loss and he gets crap for it, yet Peyton does the exact same thing and people don't really say anything. That makes sense.

What a moronic comment, Brees said Peyton called him Sunday night and congratulated him on the victory and Brees said Peyton is a classact. So know your facts before you post something so stupid.
