Lost a little respect for Peyton

Meet the man before you judge him walk in his shoes. He may be the finest person and throw in athlete to ever come to UT.Sorry but not a very good observation .

He stormed off the field with seconds left and refused to shake hands with Brees or any of the Saints players!

Poor sportsmanship!!! And Classless!!!

rewind the tape, Peyton DID come up behind Brees right before the interview on the field. You must've missed it.

He was pissed. He single handidly cost the colts the game. What do you expect?

The Colts would be nowhere without him, they wouldn't have been in the game without him. Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon are not that great, Peyton is making them look good. Also, Reggie Wayne telegraphed his route and Collie lined up in a slot he's never in so they knew he would motion out (per interview with the DB that caught the interception). I guess what I'm saying is: Sir, if you think that Peyton Manning cost the Colts the game, then you are mistaken.

There were 2 reasons the Colts lost, their defense is a joke and they didn't get the officiating like they did against the Jets. Manning did fine, and he is a good sport. He is also the best QB ever. I just wish he would have come out his Junior year and the Jets would have got him for QB.

Yeah, how could you respect someone that was distrought over losing the freaking super bowl.

Give me a break.

Did anybody else think that wasn't the best route by Reggie Wayne?

I think RW knew he was the #2 option on that pass and dogged it.

And the last pass he could have caught near the end zone. He alligator armed it. Big time.

Wideouts.

One of my friends commented on Wayne's route as soon as we saw the replay. He didn't think Wayne's effort was the issue. He said that it looked like an option route and that Wayne reacted slowly. However, Michael Irvin said on NFL Network that when you don't get a receiver involved early, he won't give maximum effort later. Sounded like he was basically saying that Wayne didn't put forth much of an effort on the play, and the last pass that went through his hands was stunning. It was definitely an uncharacteristic performance, but he wasn't 100% either.

If that had been Brady that stormed off the field a refuse to shake hands with the Colts and Peyton

He would be ripped on here!

Just because I am a UT fan..dosnt mean I will not point out bad sportsmanship.
You and the original poster are spot on. The people flaming you are clueless. Peyton just showed once again he chokes in the BIG GAMES (aka Florida in college). The only reason the colts beat the Bears in his SB win was because the Bears had no QB. End of discussion.

Stupidest post ever. Apparently Peyton also plays defense and gave up the whole 2nd quarter to the Saints O. He also plays WR under the name Garcon and dropped a perfect ball that could have led to a rout considering the score at the time. He must also kick and shank field goals and he must play special teams and not be able to fall on a ball that was onsided. Brilliant

Peyton's interception was bad, but considering they were already down seven it wasn't the sole reason they lost. Most likely, if the Colts had scored, the Saints would have driven down the field and kicked a FG anyways.

why do we care what peyton does he is not at ut anymore

Because he is UT's greatest ambassador and quite possibly the best QB to ever play.

He is the guy that could have left after his Jr. year but loved being at UT so much he came back for his Sr. year.

He is the guy that started the tradition of the QB leading the band in Rocky Top.

He is the guy that give millions to UT.

The guy that has said numerous times how much of a Tennessee Volunteer he is.

He is everything that is right in sports and he will always be a Tennessee Volunteer.

Any questions?

I'm sure he'll be losing sleep over it...maybe even entering rehab.

Good lord, where do you people come from?

Your just stirring the pot and your making yourself look like an idiot in doing so!!!! peyton did what any losing quarterback in the superbowl would do when the other team storms the field.

He called Drew later that night. Drew said Manning was a class act and that is that. I'm glad he was pissed, I hate it when a team losses and you see them out there on the field after the game hung and laughing. Trust me when Tenn loses I'm not shaking nobody hand. Period. Give me some time then I'll be okay. go Vols go Manning

Not sure what was up with Wayne. He caught like 2-3 passes on that drive with the INT so he should've felt involved. I also would think most WRs would put forth full effort in the SB with a chance to tie the game.

If it were Kiffin, we'd say it was classless and be correct. But we all know that Manning is just the opposite, so I give him the benefit of the doubt. I think he SHOULD have given Brees and Payton their due, gone over and shook their hands, and but I think he was so angry about the INT and disappointed by the loss that he just wanted to get out of there. Being Peyton Manning--can you imagine?

This. Not once in the 2nd half did anyone on the Colts defense make me think they really wanted to get off the field. Brees is great but too many of his completions were gimmes.

Yea I saw Brees mention this when he was on ESPN today.

Wow, how'd they get to the Super Bowl without a qb?

When I looked at him at the beginning of the game his expression was very down. His body language was very down. This was evident when they were ahead also. He just needs to chill out and enjoy things more....Football is a game, needless to say one that pays him well, but still a game and he has or should have a life other than football. He just didn't look or act like the usual Peyton.

Lets see....you just spent 60 minutes trying to rip the other guys head off.......a hand shake means what? All the hand shakes after the game are fake anyway. They would rip your head off again on the next play.:banghead2:

when i saw the pick ( and i am a Peyton Manning fan) i said that it was a lazy route that Wayne ran. when i saw the replay if he had ran that play hard the CB would have to run right threw him to make that pick

ridiculous thread and PM addressed it last night

"It's their stage." -----Exactly. Peyton knew the best thing for him to do was get off the field. It's not like a word from PM was going to enhance what DB was feeling. Peyton also said he would talk to Drew later.
