Lost a little respect for Peyton

Give me a break. The guy is a human being and a professional that just lost out on being at the pinacle of his professional achievement for this season. He was frustrated. I saw his statements on Sportscenter a while ago, and he did nothing but credit the Saints, Drew Brees and the way that they played the game. He didn't pull a Serena Williams and talk only about how he wasn't on his game or that the calls were bad or some other B.S. excuse.

Should he have gone over the personally congratulated Brees? Sure.

But let's remember how this man has conducted himself throughout his entire football career. It has been nothing but the exemplification of class and professionalism. He is a human being and humans make mistakes and they have flaws, but that doesn't mean he should be villified or that you should lose respect for him.

That place goes from 0- media circus in less than 2 seconds. Confetti, reporters, cameras, staff, security, you name it. Im sure Peyton told Brees congrats at some juncture behind the scenes, but to say the guy was "classless" because he left is a bit overboard.

This idea that one is only a good "sportsman" if they shake hands in defeat, on the biggest stage, is a joke.

I would have been upset if he walked over and pretended to wish them well and congratulate his opponents, b/c that would have been fake. He doesn't want to congratulate them...F his opponents! They won, good for them but they certainly don't NEED Peyton's handshake.

And if a few idiots like you "lose respect" for him b/c of it, well good...go root for "good sportsmans" then. See ya :good!:

The guy just lost the FN Superbowl! He's allowed to be upset and not shake hands imo

Because they obviously weren't. Play that game any other day and the Colts win. No doubt about it.

Im not so sure about that. The way the Saints were completing passes at will, Im not sure the Colts could have stopped them.

The Colts did run the ball much better than I expected however.

You think so? Why is everyone suprised the Saints won? I mean they had a great team. They have a solid D, a great passing game, 3 steady RB's....The Colts were solid all year but by no means are they that much better than the Saints

He stormed off the field with seconds left and refused to shake hands with Brees or any of the Saints players!

Poor sportsmanship!!! And Classless!!!

Actually if you watch closely he goes over and says good game to Brees while he is surrounded by camera's. You will see Brees stop what he is doing and lean over and say the same to Peyton. You can't see him as all the camera's are on Brees but you can hear it. You should know Peyton is never the type to walk off without trying to congratulate the other team. The question is how much your respect is worth if you pull it away that quickly....

Seriously, he lost the game for them....I mean what was he 32-47 for over 300 yards with a TD and an INT? Was it his fault that the kick retunr team muffed the onside kick? Was it his fault the defense couldn't slow Brees down in the 2nd quarter? Or how about when the coach decided to kick a 50+ yard FG on 4 and 2? Yea that was all Manning!

How about the Garcon pass that was dropped on the crossing route that lead to a 4th down and punt? Hmmm yea that was horrible.....Football is a team game and teams lose them.

Also why can't we just say the Saints were better? I mean Brees had a great game, their D played great in the 2nd half and they were very prepared....

Yea im serious, that interception cost the colts the game. In case u dont remeber, he returned it for a TD. Just sayin..... Dont get me wrong, im a huge manning fan but the was a costly mistake rarely made by PM.

I know so. Colts fan told me. Also, the Colts are better than the Titans, which is also of major importance in regards to this argument.

I doubt Peyton will lose any sleep tonight because some douchebag on a message board has lost respect for him.

Didn't PM say that he was going to call up Sean Payton and Drew Brees and congratulate them both?

You know the same thing happened with Lebron James last year in the Eastern Conference Finals. Lebron and Peyton are just the two biggest players in their respected sports, who carry their teams to success. Of course they are both going to be disappointed and ready to get out of there. Peyton threw for over 300 yards and Garcon missed a 40+ yard reception, and Wayne cost Peyton one TD and a pick because he stopped on the route. Peyton does not deserve to lose any respect because he plays the game the right way all the time. He is just competitive and wanted to win. Nothing more than that. He, like Lebron, was just disappointed and the media is making out to be a bigger deal than it is. Would you want to hang around after you just lost the SB and shake hands?

Single-handidly? Whatever. Garcon dropped an easy pass in the first half that would have led to another probably score. A DB dropped an INT in the 2nd half that would have stopped a Saints drive. A missed FG. Dropped pass by Wayne at the end that could have made it interesting. NOBODY loses a game single-handidly you D***bag.

I bet he just didn't want to draw attention to himself in what's supposed to be the Saints' night to celebrate. I have no problem with that.

He was pissed. He single handidly cost the colts the game. What do you expect?
Also worth noting that the colts probably don't get to the playoffs with just about any other qb in the league other than Peyton given their (lack of) talent this year, as well as the coaching change.

Because the Saints beat the RAMS by 5 points and the Colts clobbered them. Because the Saints needed an onside kick in the third quarter to keep the ball away from Manning. Because the only good reasons that they won are because Peyton was intercepted and the Saints scored after that onside kick. The Saints are alright, but they relied on trick plays and luck to win that one.
