Loss to Florida is the definition of a trap game

Yeah, you have no clue…..well-played yourself. Seriously, do a little research ( I’m not talking about records) and it will allow you to make knowledgeable responses about the team you’re commenting on.
You literally have nothing to back up your claim that Florida is a pretty darn good team, nothing. They got beat by a mid major FAU at home, which will be FAU's signature win to get into the tourney (don't give me the crap that FAU is ranked, they haven't played anyone) Florida has beat one other ranked team which is a #20 Missouri. Which part of their resume besides the wins over TN and MZ do you consider a resume builder? They are 34th in BPI and aren't even on the bubble for the NCAA tournament. What research do you have that proves your blanket statement definitively?

You just proved my point that you got nothing, glad your a VOL fan though! I hope you have a great day!
Look friend, we’re all pulling for the Vols. No animosity intended. A team like Florida with a new head coach and a totally different roster can change from what they were in the beginning to what they are now. They’ve won their last 5 of 6 and their improvement in January has been really good. Sometimes looking at “overall” does not represent the present. All I’m saying. Just consider that possibility. Thanks.

They are 38th at KenPom. Kind of like Ohio State, they are higher up in efficiency numbers, but they need more quality wins to get on the bubble. I’m not getting involved in saying they are “good” or not.

The overall point is that it’s not a bad loss. Everyone will chime in with an opinion, but the committee defines a bad loss, and this wasn’t one.

I see that as well, Go VOLS!

I'm not too concerned with the loss to Florida at Gainesville. College sports is an emotional game...we just came off a huge win where we walloped Texas, a top 10 team...we just moved to #2 in the rankings...we have a huge home game against Auburn this Saturday.

We were clearly still hyped with the win against Texas and looking ahead to Auburn this Saturday. Florida just happened to be the unranked team and the meat between the sandwich. We did good just to keep it close given the circumstances.

This loss does not change my opinion that we should be one of the favorites to win the NCAA tournament!

LOL. History tells us this team won’t advance past the Sweet Sixteen. Hey, but I do agree this was a trap game, especially with it being on the road. Look at Alabama losing to OU at Norman in an embarrassing fashion and then destroying Vanderbilt. It happens.

The preseason AP poll also tells us this team won’t advance past the Sweet Sixteen. They were ranked #11. The top 8 advance.

I fear Auburn will steal one at TBA on Saturday, Pearl is 7-4 against Barnes.
Nah, Auburn is following same trends Year to Year that Pearl’s here did - diminishing returns, undisciplined, sloppy, selfish play. We’ll be alright.
And as mad as last night’s game made me, it definitely was a proverbial trap game but should help us get better during the second half of season!

If this team can't hit the 3's, they just don't know what to do!
Not true, actually we are taking less this year than in past, percentage is higher. Barnes and .Com nailed it last night- inside game was bad and needs to be much better. JP and JJJ need to be more aggressive to basket too! Vesco missed three backdoor cuts where JJJ wanted to feed him and ZZ circled under basket without a pass or shot attempt at least 4x!

Looked tired and uninterested. Love UT, but I really don’t think theyre a 1 seed. Probably a 3 seed.

I don’t look at it that way. If we shoot well from 3-point range, it opens up the big men and our defense feeds off of that. When we fail to shoot 3’s well, our bigs are not good enough to create and our defense suffers. Our program is in great shape as a whole, but his team is one bad shooting night from being knocked out on the tournament. (Michigan showed everyone how to defend Vescovie).

Ok. By lousy, I meant "not going to NCAA tournament".

Might be a NIT type team.

South Carolina is turrible.

Currently a few slots out of the field but they are trending well. I predict they will end up right on the bubble.

We should keep our cool as fans. Don’t get too up or too down. Expect 3 or 4 more losses . 1 in SEC T we play in Nashville and Colorado game shows we don’t play well there. We will lose 2 or 3 of @UK, Bama & @ Auburn. All very good teams. If we don’t win SECT I’d just as soon get knocked out first game & rest legs and hope for a deep NCAA run.

We will see. Besides Castleman, I'm not sure they shoot straight enough

I don't think they're tournament material. We were terrible and they couldn't pull away with brick after brick.
