Losing to Vandy or UK

I have to tell you it is possible. The separation between the top of the SEC and the bottom is not that much. Florida had some trouble with both Kentucky and Vandy and Vandy, in particular, is a lot better than they seem on paper. And Kentucky is improving.

Man oh man did those Gators eat their lucky charms this morning..

We will win out and have an "acceptable" season. '07 will have to be much better or there will be some serious grumblings around K-town.

Early in the game that guys made a 55 yarder. They called it back for delay of game. I thought it was a bad call.

How far have we fallen if we're sitting around debating on whether on not we'll beat UK/Vandy.

Geez...

Florida was very fortunate to win. What a day!! Down goes Auburn, Texas, Cal. Combine that with the loss by L'ville on Thursday and Florida really ought to have a decent hold on #3 in BCS come Sunday night.

Wild.

I guess the winner of Florida-Arky will have a legit claim to the NT game spot.

A rematch would just go to show how much of a failure the BCS is imho.

Losing to a team on the last game of the season and getting a 'mulligan' for the NC just doesn't sit well.

I don't disagree, but its a question of mathematics. The number of 1 loss teams is dwindling rapidly. Assuming that Rutgers is not given the nod (and I cannot imagine they will get it), you are likely talking about winner of Florida-Arky (not guaranteed, by any means), possibly WVa. (please), Wisconsin (from #16 to #2 in three weeks? I hope not), Notre Dame (let's just hope not, shall we?), USC (legit, but tough games left), and Wake Forest (they are in the ACC. 'nuff said).

The loser of OSU-Mich will still be high up in computers and likely not drop far in human polls. It is a distinct possibility.

I understand it could go that route. It just doesn't sit well. At that point, why not just institute a playoff system since you've set the precedent that the regular season games don't mean anything anyway in terms of getting to play for a NC.

Reading a lot of post around here and it seems that a lot of people really want us to loose to UK and Vandy just so Coach Fulmer will be fired:ermm:

Yeah, I've seen that mentioned all over the board. Give me a break. Wanting Fulmer gone doesn't mean you want UT to lose.

no, but honestly if i thought they would can him i would root for them to beat us. i'm at a point where i realize fulmer is doing more harm than good at the U. if he can't see it and step away he needs the boot. i want to be on top of the SEC and i feel if fulmer is there it isn't going to happen. he needs to go.

If we lose to UK, I'll probably end it all. But I would say it wouldn't surprise me if we did. I have grown accustomed to UT these past 8 yrs, hope for the best but expect the worst.

That would be ironic, considering they employ Randy Sanders.

I agree with LG with one caveat - (well, 2 that go hand-in-hand). I think if Gators win out they'll be in NC game with a close challenge from loser of OSU-Mich game if it's a good game. Am curious to see how high Ark makes it by time SECCG is played. If they lose to LSU, (but still go to Atlanta - which should happen barring a catastrophic meltdown to MSU) & beat FL, I'm not sure they'll be high enough to get into NC game. Oh, and I can hear ND drumming up support to rise up thru the rankings starting tomorrow!
