Okay, we laid a turd against Cal to open the season, and of course 100-37 against Bama and UF. Enough Said.

But, whats the new consensus, should we beat Vandy and win the (damn, how sad is it to say) the Big Game against UK, whats the opinion on CPF? Discuss.

I'm not adding a line for us winning the SEC, as there is no doubt at that point.

What's the Verdict?

I screwed up my post, and can't change them, so this thread is null and void..my fingers worked faster than my mind

I said 100-37, but if he wins the SEC this year, I wouldn't be able to keep that opinion. If UT doesn't win the SEC, I think that should be it.

Firing point for me?

Losing to Vandy or UK. Already wanted him gone but will concede that if makes it to the SECCG, then it is very understandable to not fire him. If he wins the SECCG then there is no question. A loss to Vandy or UK just cements every reason on here that has been presented for a reason to fire him.

I think the decision has been made, CPF stays. I believe the outcome of the next few games will only have an affect on the future of his assistants.

I've yet to see them lose in Neyland this year and we're on the fast track to ATL. Why is this even in question?

1-3 on the road=awful
Outscored 100-37 against rivals=awful

If UT blows another shot to reach Atlanta, there is no way Fulmer should return.

To be fair to CPF, he does go to SECCG's every 3 years.

1998, 2001, 2004..... 2007?

He hasn't necessarily blown chances to get to Atlanta. It would be nice to win the east every year, however I'm not delusional.

Going to the SECCG every 3 years is fine by me, just win the damn thing when you get there. That's where he's been lacking.

So only the home record is important? The home record certainly means something, but if UT loses to Kentucky, then that will be 1 for 5 on the road, and makes the whole home winning record pointless.

Do you remember the last time UT lost to UK? You are getting a little desperate with that one.

Given the performance of the secondary on the road this year, and the fact that we have only looked good in one road game, you should probably be a little concerned.

Voldad is right.

If UT loses it will be because the D collapses again... probably on the road at UK. That would have to put Chavis and/or the D coaches in serious jeopardy.

IMO, if they beat Vandy and win a lesser bowl then we're probably looking at a "slight" change. Probably Slade. If they lose two more times then it will be more substantial. Lose 3 more times and we'll probably see a whole new defensive staff... and Fulmer will probably be in a do or die situation next year.

OTOH, I think UT will win the last two games. UK will be a chance for the young D to pass a test: Can they beat a quality offensive football team on the road?

If so, I think they'll surprise many by being very competitive against LSU if not victorious. I actually like the match up for UT. The team most like UT that LSU has played is UK... and they lost. UK was more experienced at that point but if UT makes it, experience will not longer be a problem. UT is already more talented than UK especially on D.

I started thinking about that question. The last time Kentucky beat us, it's very possible that tvolsfan's parents hadn't even met yet.

I just don't see how that has anything to do with the fact that Kentucky is actually a threat to Tennessee this year.

It doesn't have anything to do with anything and wasn't intended as a shot at you. I was just pointing out how incredibly long the streak has been. I'm about to turn 35 and the last time Kentucky beat us, I was 11 years old and watching the game while I was at Disney World.
