Sometime around 1979-80, we played a Washington State team which was quarterbacked by a guy named Samoa Samoa. John Ward couldn't shut up about the guy's name for the whole game.

I am going to guess that his family hailed from Samoa.

The good guys won, if I recall correctly.

Two words that don't belong in the same sentence, sorry Verc.

Guys I'm telling you, this very well could be a trap game. Yes, Montana is an FCS school but they just happen to be one of the best programs in the FCS. Why they don't look into moving up to FBS is beyond me (maybe they are). Call me nuts but Tennessee needs to be VERY careful not to overlook these guys.

I watched one of the teams they lost to last year and they were really not good. I wouldn't be too worried about Montana

future games also include Okla, Neb, Ohio St, Oregon, UConn, etc. and also include our regular SEC foes like UF, bama and UGA. Couple of cream puffs is no big deal. I've never heard an opposing fan say anything about UT being scared of scheduling the best around like they do of other SEC schools. You're letting 1 year define the program which is just wrong

Yeah they were down last year. They had graduated all of their players from the year before, who had gone to 2 straight FCS national championship games. However they recruit well and their OL and DL's are always monsterous. Tennessee SHOULD absolutely throttle them but they need to be focused and not overlook them.

GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE.

There are TWO of them.

Nate Montana is at Notre Dame and is a backup QB. He's the one considering transfer and he just got arrested with several other Notre Dame players recently.

Nick Montana is at U of Washington.
