If we are going to play a cupcake and pay them a lot of money may as well play an instate school. Much rather play tenn tech, ut Martin, Austin Peay than UTEP, Ohio, Kent St, etc.

The only exception is Memphis. Wouldn’t touch them at all

Basically a tune up game for us at Neyland. I doubt that we give in to TSU and play it in Nashville as that would be kinda silly. But who knows.

TSU could always get the recruits to out talent most of the other OVC type schools. However, since schools like U.T. Martin, Murray State and others began taking a$$ beatings from DI schools for money, they started getting those kids because they improved facilities. TSU isn’t winning like the old days. I guess they finally realized they need the $$$ to improve facilities to compete.
It would also help if the state paid them the money they owed. It’s criminal how the state has treated TSU.

It is nice to have a game in Nashville occasionally for us West Tennessee folks. But it needs to be a power 5 school.

I'm glad to see someone say it.

It truly is criminal how they've treated, and more importantly, continue to treat that school. Playing this game in Nashville is a literal drop in the bucket to what they're owed.

And I’ll say this…it’s not a coincidence that they’re an historically black university. Racism absolutely plays a part in it.

Screw all of us in west Tennessee huh?
I am probably one of the few in here that wishes we still played home and homes with Memphis. Give us west Tennessee fans a closer game to be able to watch them. I’m ready for when they travel to Oxford

Its basically a charity game. No way to win with these type games. You know its not going to be competitive, will not be on TV and a lot of the season ticket holders either sell or give away their tickets. Only positives I see is the school gets a big check to show up for a beat down and lot of fans who normally can't get tickets can.

Didn't we use to play Ole Miss every year in Memphis back in the day when they were a yearly rival? That would be cool to start back.

We shouldn’t drop down no lower than mid-major such as MTSU Western Ky. Southern Miss. or ECU.

It was really hot. I was at UT-UCLA in 1991. That’s the hottest I’ve been to. I didn’t make it for the UTC game last year, but those who did said it was among the hottest they’d attended.
Last year's opener was ridiculous. Left game at halftime. Unless you had box seats, it felt like you were in a giant oven. Been to some hot games, but that was too much.
