Looks like Oregon is a 13.5 pt favorite over U.T.

Something about the line "we play better as underdogs" just gets me fired up.

I mean, I like gambling as much as the next guy, but all that impressive stats against the spread tells me are that a) something completely unexpected happened or b) the spread was just dead wrong. In neither case do I see it as proof of anything.

We've gone almost .500 as double digit underdogs in the past 20 or so years based on the info VegasVol provided. In my book that's pretty good.

The line is too high. Maybe if CPF was at the helm. Wilcox and Smith alone will help the defense beat this spread. GBO!!!

i think its a fair line. And nit because we are aterrible team. Oregon is one of the best teams in america. They are not kentucky. Our season does not depend on this game. They scored 59 points in the first half last week. I know new mexico is terrible but show me the last time there was a 59-0 halftime score against any team. That being said we are better than people think. I would take us to cover. 31-20 ducks

Why are you people questioning VegasVol? I think it's pretty obvious by his name he knows what he is talking about. What's next? The Hamburglar is a Vegan?

That's OK. UT usually wins when we're double-digit underdogs!!!!

Not exactly.

We do ok, but have lost our last 4 when we were double-digit dogs:

Tennessee as a Double Digit Dog Since '89:

Failed to cover only once and 4-5 outright.

'89 UCLA +15 Won 24-6
'97 Nebraska +14 Lost 17-42
'01 Florida +18 Won 34-32
'03 Miami +13 Won 10-6
'04 Georgia +13 Won 19-14
'04 Auburn SECC +14 Lost 28-38
'08 Georgia +13 Lost 14-26
'09 Florida +30 Lost 13-23
'09 Alabama +14 Lost 10-12

I think that Vols team would kill this one.

Not to mention that team had a good QB (even though we didn't know it at the time) & Robert Meachem.

Also, the 18pt. spread in 2001 (UT-UF) has to be the worst line ever. Has there ever been another time two top 5 teams played each other and the line was that much?

I think the 13.5 spread is a compliment! It's football! you never know how the ball or call is going to bounce. But when you take the preseason #11th ranked team in the country who just hung a "72-0" on a Div-1 team that's impressive. When that same team is traveling to the "74th preseason ranked team and only a 13.5 favorite, after the offensive power they showed, what are they really saying? GO VOLS!

No questioning here. Vegas is right.:)

If OR does not cover its a miracle. People we all love orange but how can you watch that game against 1-AA and think we will beat OR....seriously people? Simms was mediocre at best...at best....against 1-AA and we are going to turn that into a W the next week against a top 10 team? ok.....

Maybe Oregon's center will get a case of the Pouncey's.

Sure.. ok.. but lets play the game anyway. Even with no chance at victory.

someone keeps saying, they have no better recruits.....does that mean their coaches do better? I'm not a gambler but 13.5 seems about right for someone on the outside looking in. assuming new mex was better than utm, i think we are in for a great fight.....that's OK with me.

They have an excellent offensive scheme and offensive coordinator, while hit-or-miss on defense last seasons sans Bellotti. That said, it's useful to remember this is a team that needed overtime or 4th quarter drives the last two seasons to beat Purdue, who hasn't had a winning season either year.
