Slotback - Lynch is a star player and has many big time plays. This is a loss. He will not start, but he may be available. He has not practiced enough to have all the rust off. This has been a known for sometime. The question was will he be back in time for the game.
The other 2 A-Backs/slotbacks are proven and have big plays as well. Nathan Cottrell is the third slotback and is expected to be a very good blocker, strong runner, and fast.
All the FullBacks are good to go at this point,
I can't start a thread but I will give you a GT team update.
Defense:
Good: all the DB are returning and are strong
Questions are out on the DL and we expect UT to run to test them
The LB are also a question for 2017
Believe whatever you want. That kid can freaking fly. Electronically timed SPARQ 40 of 4.35....was 7th nationally on the SPARQ leaderboard out of 21,000 athletes timed in 2014. 41 inch vertical to boot. Kid is explosive and lightning fast. Don't know how good a football player he is, but he's a burner. Who do we have that can run a legit sub 4.4? Maybe Byrd or Latrell Williams? Maybe?
True freshman Tyler Byrd, a potential two-way player who is lining up at slot receiver and on the kick return team, was the fastest of the 12 players to run 20 mph or faster, hitting 23.7.
Fellow incoming freshman Nigel Warrior was No 2 at 21.6 mph, while senior linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin raised eyebrows with a 21.2 mph posting.
“It’s something we pride ourselves on, being fast,” said sophomore Micah Abernathy, whose repetitions now are primarily at safety. “Being on the top of that list as a freshman, that’s a really good feat.”
Byrd and Warrior both have been heavily discussed as likely contributors this season, even before the speed chart was released.
Senior defensive end Corey Vereen, one of the five defensive lineman to run 16 mph or faster, said the players take note of the speed postings.
“We kind of compete in practice,” said Vereen, who has topped out at 16 mph.
Jonathan Kongbo, an incoming junior-college transfer from Arizona Western College, was the fastest of the defensive linemen at 18.4 mph.

IMHO, the 30-40 lb/man weight advantage of UTs OL v GTs DL will be outcome determinative.
From SECcountry.com before the start of last season (in MPH).......
From BleacherReport.com last season.....
Just never seen that guy on any list of game changers to watch :dunno:

Most teams we play have this advantage. It doesn't affect GT though because of what we do. A lot of times guys go unblocked and we go after the LB's and S's. that's why we recruiting the guys like that. It's by design, we need fast athletic guys on the OL.
Don't forget global warming.
People in Texas and India don't find that funny at the moment. Neither will your kids, but hey f*** it right? It's all about that $$$$ right? This world is so far f***ed up the a$$.

Any of the GT fans on the board have any more info?
You must be doing meth. You do less than UGA with the talent you recruit. Our three stars will spank your five stars Monday. Should be a good game, but we appear to be in better shape than Tennessee.
