Looks like Chaney is gone

Any attachment to Fulmer needs to go now. That man was pure poison. Any people even left in the administration with ties to him becoming AD also needs to go. This **** should be a pure cleansing. To much bad **** has been going on here that last 12 years. Time to let people do their job.

Thank the lord, Chaney hasn’t done anything for Tennessee in his 2 tries here
Ahh, he's the only undefeated head coach in program history!! Alot of Chaney's problems was he was blamed for the head man's short comings and down falls like control.

He's going to call his own plays, so what? Anyone that was paying attention should have known that. It's not like he's the only one that does that, Lane Kiffin does, Sean McVay, Andy Reid, Sean Payton, Kyle Shanahan all call their own plays. Spoiler alert, that's 4 superbowl coaches in the NFL. This shouldn't bother anyone. He's had a top 8 offense his entire tenure as a HC, shouldn't we want him calling plays?

2018 - Went 12-1 Beat a mid-tier ACC team (7-7) and lost to a high-tier SEC team (10-3).
2019 - Went 10-3 Beat a bottom-tier PAC 12 team (4-8) and lost to a mid-tier ACC team (8-5)
2020 - Went 6-4 Beat a bottom-tier ACC team (3-7) and lost to a P5 independent (11-1)

So, on the bright side he should be able to beat Vandy.
I'm aware of the records. I'm also aware he has done more with less. And that his offense is explosive and will carry over to the SEC. I'm aware that he has coached a Heisman trophy winner in Sam Bradford and had Missouri with the #1 offense in the SECin 2016. I'm also aware that his teams have sustained an average of 42 points a game over a 3 year period. His offense's are on par with Clemson, Oklahoma, and Alabama That's damn good company.

You fail to mention his lone loss in 2018 was to a #11 ranked LSU by a margin of 3 points who went on to boat race everyone and win the NC.

In 2019 his 3 loses were by a total of 7 points combined. 1,3, and 3. His offenses scored 34, 24, and 31 points in those losses.

This year looked bad, but he had 10 players opt out and still managed to keep games respectable in those loses. Losing by 1 TD to a ranked Tulsa, 1 point to Memphis, 3 points to a #7 Cincinnati, which scored 12 more points than the "mighty dawgs" could muster against them. His only embarrassing loss came against a #16 BYU.

If you average out his 8 losses it would be a margin of each game being lost by 6 points. Take away the 1 BYU game and it shrinks to a 3 point loss margin. For the most part, he is competing with the better teams and blowing out who he should win against.

If you can't see the potential of a good coach your crazy. I guess your expecting SEC results with an AAC roster?

It's pretty telling when you avg. 42 points a game for 3 years and you still find a way to lose. What he needs is a better defense to help carry his team's.

I don’t know if you are trolling or not, so I’ll try and dumb this down as much as possible.
When you are UCF, you play in the AAC, you get AAC level athletes, you don’t get 4 & 5 star talent to go there and play. Therefore, your conference record is a reflection of how you played teams that are on par with you
When you are TN, you get SEC level talent. You are expected to compete with teams in your conference. You should be getting 4 & 5 star talent to come to your school.
I can’t make it any more clear than that.

You're doing a yeoman's work trying to convince this smooth brained person that Josh Heupel didn't have an SEC team playing in the AAC. When I see these types of people making arguments, I'm less surprised that the rest of the world thinks we are all ignorant imbeciles.

That’s a pretty big assumption. We have been getting AAC talent.

No, we've not been getting AAC talent. Most AAC teams rejoice if they get a 4* recruit, who fell to them because he has grade or criminal troubles. Give me a break and go educate yourself, because you're just making yourself look daft.

I'm hoping for OC and DC hires that are great recruiters and coaches. I'm fine with CJH controlling play calling but those plays need high caliber, well disciplined players in the SEC to be successful. Recruiting is always hard, even harder right now for UT........ priority #1 has to be bringing in the best athletes we can because in a couple of years we're likely going to be short some scholarships, visit days, etc.

Hire well, coach.

I figured Huepel wouldn't want Chaney, but he is letting go of one our only good assets.

At least Huepel has experience doing it as a coach. But at the same time his defense was atrocious at UCF. It may be more of the same problem that Pruitt had where he neglected one side of the ball.

At least Pruitt had Chaney on Offense. If Steele goes, good luck finding a D Coordinator who will be able to handle such a role.

From my observation Pruitt neglected both sides of the ball. Particularly the middle of the field.

I would rather have CJH coaching QBS than Chaney.

Every UGA fan i know was really happy we took Chaney from them.
Chaney is predictable on his best day
