According to Hyams...

Tennessee coach Josh Heupel on SportsTalk @SportsRadioWNML said today he will hire an offensive coordinator but he will call plays. He said you must treat players differently when taking over an undefeated team (Central Florida) v. a 3-7 team like Tennessee.

Only makes sense for him to go. He seems like a good guy, hope he lands somewhere that's really good for him to finish out his career.

With the new coach bringing his own offensive system, there would be no real reason for Chaney to stay, except to learn it so he can go somewhere else later.

So essentially we hired an offensive coordinator, and for $4MM at that. Gotta love our administration.

Heupel runs a completely different O. No sense keeping Chaney.......doesn’t even seem like a god fit.

Chaney was coordinator of a bad O in Tennessee. He was part of a staff that got Tennessee into trouble.......not saying either is any or all Chaney’s fault.....but I’m sure Heupel wants guys “he” can trust in there.

I sort of figured that Chaney would be sent packing by Coach Heupel.
