Looking To Buy A Boat.

Anyone have any recommendations? Going to go with more of the ski-boat types and would like to find one for no more than 10,000.

I heard you can buy the Ady Gil for dirt cheap right now. it might need a little front end work though.

My brother-in-law is just flat out a lake guy. That's all he does. He is helping me some or I would be absolutely lost.

I don't want to finance anything, and I don't want to spend more than 10 grand right now. On the other hand, I don't want to buy something that I'm going to be sinking in a ton of money because I went on the cheap.

So would you recommend the Johnson motor then?

We always had decent luck with them.

Yea we have one of those. It still doesn't take care of all of the cleanup though. Certainly makes it easier.

My wife and I messed around on eBay last night and found a nice Bayliner. I believe it was the Cabin Cuddy. Little different style but seemed to be a nice looking boat.

I'm not relegated to ski boats only, just looking for a good deal. Definitely want something that the family can ski or board off of. And of course, Daddy wants the more speed the better.

Absolutely, Positively DO NOT buy a Bayliner. Biggest POS on the water!

I've got a 21' Malibu w/ wakeboard tower etc. It will seat 6 in relative comfort. However, the problem arises 'cause everyone has to bring their "stuff". Most boats have a built in cooler but everyone seems to have to bring one of their own. Then there are towels, lotions, hats, sunglasses, water toys and before long you can't walk around the boat without walking on "stuff". If you don't keep skis and wakeboards on tower/storage the problem is multiplied.
As captain of the ship, suggest where everyone needs to store their "stuff" and use built in storage areas.

Enjoy.....it's a ton of fun if you make it so.

Bump....

Any luck in your search? Wife and I have been discussing it, and after a good month, I have given the green light. Looking for an 18-19ft bow rider or runabout about the same price range. I am thinking of waiting for the 2011 ATL Boat Show in January. Anyone bought a boat at a boat show?

I see Bayliners for sale all over the place, I guess for a reason. I like Sea Rays, but am open to anything

Also I have a 4 month old, anyone have any experience with a little one on a boat? We are planning on using it in spring/summer 2011

Looking like it may be a january or february purchase. Haven't found anything yet that has wowed us.

Ive got a 6 month old who went out with us once on my in laws boat and she did fine. Just wouldn't take her out much, though.

what did you do, keep him/her in car seat and strap a life preserver on it?

Put her underneath for a while. Had her with a life jacket on and my wife or someone else held her. Weren't moving too fast.
