I like the checkerboard drawers.. I would also put the power T on the sides if it were me.

I would also put a football field on top, but I would do the yard lines at a specific measurement so I could actually use it to measure. Like each ten yard line equals 10 inches..although that would be too large. You would need to scale it per the size. Just used it as example

Just an idea.. good luck

Ok guys here is my next issue. I know UT orange is FF8200, but you cant really change that hex code into a paint code. We have all kinds of mixing colors and 1,000s+ of books with color codes in them. I was going to post a few colors I had run down to see what you think. I'll know more when I go to work tomorrow, but I was trying to get in the ball park tonight.

I know the blood orange is way to dark, but it was already in the pic.

I work in a body shop and just upgraded to a new tool box for a good price. Only draw back was that the one I got cheap was blue and I wanted orange.

So I am starting on a weekend project. I have 3 main ideas, but I would like to hear from you guys too. I'll post a picture of the box its self and a paper draft (look over my bad sketch and MS paint skill) of what I was thinking.

Thanks for checking it out and giving some input.

Not to get off topic or pry but Matco makes a great box. May I ask what price you paid for this one? Craigslist? eBay?

After running into a few dents and other stuff I took it home for 2,000 cash. It was sitting in a guys living room. He wanted it gone lol. Craigslist

I think the correct color is PMS 151 and you can get that at Home Depot... I would go OW on the front and checkerboard the sides and back since it is smooth and would be easier to outline than drawers... Just IMO... But now you have given me another project just because the idea is a great one... Thanks OP that's all I needed was something else to consume my spare time

Signal Orange.

Checkerboard drawers.

Big white Power T on each side.

Maybe a decal of Smokey too.

Back..state outline with "I will give my all for Tennessee" across the top

Find a great picture of Neyland stadium and paste it on the back too.

I can't wait to see how you have it when finished.

My thoughts would be a little different, I would check each end like the field. Orange all other areas.

The white on the draws would usually get greasy all of the time, eventually the white will dull out.

Needs to be a little darker than signal but a little lighter than the next one.

Home Depot in Knoxville has the code for UT orange. In a notebook. Others don't. I know, because I live in Ohio and had a heck of a time finding out how to get the right paint. Ended up calling HD in Knoxville - guy says yeah we have it written in a notebook around here somewhere. Just knowing it's Pantone 151 doesn't tell the paint mixers anything.

By the way, I'm for all orange, with magnets and such to add flair. Or Smokey gray, with orange drawers.

Where do you live. I have a big Snap-On tool box that I inherited from my dad. The box is 40 years old and the paint is not that nice and some of the locks and sliders need some attention but I would love to have it painted smokey gray.

Paint the door with a 10 then next, 5. Finally.... Checkerboards. That way when someone asks which door, you can say 10 no... The 5...no to the checkerboards!
