Looking at the schedule, one result that would really be good to see

You got to admit, though. Making that fan base actually get excited for and care about football this late into the season (rather than just counting down the days until basketball starts)...that almost feels like it takes a miracle worker.

That's the thing for me also. We are all excited about what we hope Butch is doing here. Imagine that same feeling at a school that has never been worth a @##. If Stoops takes them to a decent bowl they should start tattooing all Kentucky newborns with his likeness.

Neither did Lyle, but he has already matched his sec wins total from last year in 3 games this year. You guys will finally see at the end of this season.

So no comment about the defense that gave up 530 to a team that we gave up 232 yards to?

You sound like either a troll or just someone rooting against Butch just to come back here screaming "I told you so!"

Not a VFL imo.

Which going to my point as well. UTs defense made Driskel look like he shouldn't even have a scholarship. Uk gave up 295 yards and 3 TDs to him. And you know what they say about defense. ..

I do not see many complaining about the D, but its really hard to win a football game in this era without an offensive TD. Also, Driskel has won every game against UT he has played in. Maybe Lyle can put up a trophy on his mantle next to his trumpet, recruiting ranking, 3 way tie champs, and make Florida QB look bad but still lose.

The offense will come. Its going to take time. Everyone knew our season was going to be tough and a bowl game was a success. If you are thay down on Butch maybe you should find a new team to root for.

NFL offensive line last year, could not win 6 games, which only required a win at home over Vandy.

I don't have enough faith in the OL to say we win 6 games. They bad. REAL bad.

We finish this season 7-6. Beat UTC, USC, UK, Candy. I don't see why everyone is jumping on the UK bandwagon. They'll win this week to go 5-1 but will get beat every game from here on out.

Baffling. Team #118 needs to win each week, yet, posters are planning how they will win 6 games who they will against. Looking ahead does what? Anxiety, despair, emotions on edge, etc. Remember last Saturday? There is zero way that UF should win that game. Yet they did. Let's sit back and watch a game at a time and see if they can turn the offense around and make plays that win games. If they can, bowl game. If they don't, you get to hear the same junk until next season.

It takes a lot more than a really good OL to win in the SEC. Football is a total team sport, having one good unit isnt good enough. Our defense was incredibly young and slow. We had walk-ons playing safety and corner a lot of times. We have seen the transformation they have made this year just getting more experience and more talent.

We were also not very good at WR last year. North was double teamed and that left basically no one to throw to which is why we are seeing Pearson and Malone seeing huge minutes. We also had zero TE production, another position that has improved greatly.

If you can't see the progress, I really can't help you.

Yeah. The QB's been sacked 17 times in 5 games. (Tied for 7th most times sacked in the country among FBS schools with the QBs at Old Dominion (6 games), Umass (6 games), and Hawaii (5 games). Teams where the QB has been sacked more: Idaho (5 games, 1 was cancelled), Wake Forest (6 games), Wyoming (5 games), UCLA (5 games), Miami (OH) (6 games), and Connecticut (5 games).)

The next closest in the conference is UK's Towles who's been sacked 11 times in the same number...and every other QB in the conference is still in single digits.

(Edit: Peterman was also sacked once, so the team's allowed 18 sacks in 5 games.)

And we've also only managed 535 yards rushing across 5 games (that's worst in the conference).

Why are you on here? So you can tell everyone you told them so? I'm sure UK would happily accept your patronage as a season ticket holder.

10 points against Vandy last year, 9 against Fl this year. Both at home with no noise to contend with. Progess. Brick by brick. Its a process.

Playing a true freshman QB who wasnt even good enough to win the back up job this year and oh btw our best and pretty much only receiver was hurt. If you don't see how that limits the offense I can't help you and there is no hope for you.

Against UF, its simple. Their defense just shut us down. Their DL had a field day and our WRs weren't getting any separation. It is what it is.

You are an extremely pessimistic person. I mean holy crap you are really really stupid, but damn you're more pessimistic than stupid. You're basing everything off of our second season and comparing them to a team that has only played two teams even worth remembering and beat one of them that we beat last year when it was much better.

Nothing you have said has any substance to it other than you pointing out negatives and mocking our coaching staff. Maybe you should learn that we can't expect an undefeated the second year of a coach's tenure after having gone 5-7 for the past 4 or 5 years.

Go root for Alabama so you can call for him to be fired after he doesn't make the playoffs this year.

Ignore this guys, he's either a rival fan trolling everyone, a UT fan who just wants to troll people, or an idiot who can't see why we're not very good this year even though everyone expected us to not be very good.

The reason people were getting high expectations was because of how good of a job Butch is doing. If he had lost to Georgia by 2 touchdowns just under the spread like Vegas expected then people wouldn't have been so disappointed with the Florida loss. Butch is becoming a victim of his own success so to speak because (even though the Florida loss hurt) his team is a lot further along than I expected.

We also have to stop having a fumble/int that leads to the other team scoring a TD, seemingly every game.

Yes, he is a victim of his own success. I do appreciate the laugh. If only his losses were worse.

This "Lyle" schtick you got going makes you out like a total d!••...which I'm sure is what you're shooting for...we're perfectly aware of what BUTCH needs to accomplish to succeed at Tennessee...now back to churning out your 70% pure bathtub crank.

Yep. Seems like because we lost to UF that means the season is over. Pathetic isn't it?

For people who have been around a while there is nothing unusual about that. For years and years the team that won that game had the inside track on the league championship and we very rarely beat them.

Now the team that loses that game has the inside track to 5th place in the eastern division and we have never won that game under those circumstances.

So yeah, if history is a guide then it is not unreasonable that people feel that way. Butch needs to change that but people are going to need to see it before they will believe it.
