Looking ahead to next year - Starters

I'd like to see Malik stay at DT, but both DL positions will still be pretty thin next year. He may flip flop depending on the situation and personnel. I could see Greg King starting at the other LB spot depending on how well he comes back from injury.

You guys are forgetting about WR DeMario Williams. I believe he may be a huge contributor for us next year.

I didn't want to start another thread on this and since it involves our starting QB next year...

Could Bray be one of the best, if not the best QB in the SEC next year? I know it sounds strange, but when you consider that Newton will probably be gone, Hartline, Mallet, Masoli, and McElroy are seniors, and Brantley (not in the right system), Garcia (servicable at best), Relf (meh), Jefferson/Lee (neither have proven themselves above the other), and whoever Vandy rolls out next year aren't really that great. That only leaves Murray at Georgia who is admittedly very good.

But could Bray be one of the (behind Murray), if not the best QB with our receivers and better line play?

Your thoughts?

Garica looks better than he is and is lucky to have Jeffery to throw to. Jeffery is outstanding and will be a top 10 pick when he comes out. Garcia is only a JR. Their team will be difficult to beat with Jeffery and Lattimore back next year. Hopefully their defense will be depleted due to grad....

I would say Poole and Gordon would be difficult due to talent at their position in the league, but I am sure pulling for them.

Any way that J. Stone can take over the LT spot and have Mack Truck start at center (he is an EE)??

I'm convinced that Dallas Thomas is the worst non-freshman lineman in the SEC, and I know that Stone has done a stand-up job at center, but he is a lefty and it is unnatural.

The coaches have commented that now they are comfortable with Stone's ability to snap left handeded and they think his potential at center is very bright. He sticks there. And although your football expertise might lead you to be less than thrilled about Dallas Thomas he is not nearly as bad as you think. He is a very solid tackle. He will just be better when he can move to right tackle.

i fully expect arnett to overtake zach rogers

little weary of the 167 lbs arnett is listed at... with meline, milton, rogers, rogers, and hunter coming back might be good for him to redshirt and put some weight on during the year. noticed that it was mentioned in the rivals review of him. if he shows he can compete and produce though bring him on baby :peace2:

Yes I know I had 12 on each side of the ball....different sets, etc.

LB still looks to be a MAJOR concern.

QB Bray, Worley, Simms, Nance

No way. Simms, assuming he's still here, will be the #2. No way the staff would want their QB 2 deep to be composed of a true sophomore and a true freshman.

Simms may not be an all-SEC QB, but he's still a very good insurance policy in case Bray (God forbid) goes down.

I think there are two guys that are going to be big impact players and are flying way under the radar. 1) Brian Randolph is a straight up STUD at safety! Even when he was hurt and had an "off year" he had like 120 tackles against very good competition. 2) Where in the heck did Lance Thomas dig up Christian Harris? He was absolutely unknown, but he is a straight up MONSTER at MLB. He is somethin like 6'3" and 230lbs. Imagine a couple years in a collegiate S & C program... If that isn't a prototypical LB in a 3-4, what is? If you haven't watched any film on these two then you have no right to hate until you do your HW! Soon there will be no more bullying our D between the tackles! V,B.

If by "big impact players" you mean two guys that could possibly redshirt next year, then I agree.

+1

While I think he's an atrocious regular starter...he would likely be in the upper half of SEC backups. And you definitely aren't going to burn Worley's RS just for mop-up duty.

Randolph has a very good chance of playing time. Unlikely redshirt, speical teams player at least. I could see Harris getting a redshirt but at the same time he could get time on special teams. I dont see him being in the LB rotation though. So it depends on how valuable they feel like he would be on speical teams.
