looking ahead to 2014

well if theres a rb he'll end up elsewhere....and a kicker too

I am thinking CBJ and CJG may try a different strategy next year. Instead of offering the top 30 RBs early, offer the next 30. RB's ranked 30-60 may give us a chance to land 1 early. Maybe we get lucky closer to NSD 2014 and a guy somewhere in the 20's gets recruited over by another school and falls to us(a la Marlin Lane). Never to early to plan ahead!!

Is this based off of actual knowledge or just "we didn't get D.Green so now I'm upset BS?" Because there is legitimate interest between us and Jalen Hurd (who will likely be the #2 overall RB) and he likes the new coaching staff.

I remember when we could land a top ten back every year. we haven't had one for a long time, minus B Brown. and sorry, had a moment earlier. CJG, anyone know who he is recruiting?

2014 is supposed to be a banner year for in-state Tennessee talent & we should do well. Also, there's a lot of Vol royalty out there we can get, in & out of state: Wharton, Kelly, Bates, McDaniel, Berry, Berry. Another DeLong is at Bearden but I think he will be a Jr in 2014...not sure. Also a player at East Hamilton In Chattanooga is the son of a former player, but I can't think of his name!

A lot of the in-state talent gets overlooked by the bigger colleges. I have a nephew who plays here in east Tn he runs a 4.5 40 led the conference in sacks 2nd in tackles after missing a game. he plays quarterback also but likes laying the wood to people.

I remember us landing three top 10 rb's in the same class. Jabari Davis, Derek Tinsley, & Cedric Houston.
