Looking ahead @ Bama and then vs. Mizzou

If they can win the series this weekend 2-1 and then sweep Mizzou, that's a 5-1 start to the SEC. WOULD. BE. HUGE. Just winning both series would be huge. I want two sweeps though.

I sincerely hope these projections come to pass, but has everyone totally forgot how hard it was to get 8 conference wins last year and all the pre-season talk about how this young team will need time to mature?

Last year in conference play, the Vols swept Alabama, got swept four times, and lost five series 2 games to 1. Both Alabama and Mizzou are off to sluggish starts, but Mizzou did win the Big 12 last year and has a lot of returning arms, and Alabama is still expected to improve over last year.

Nothing is in the bag yet.

21 Freshmen and as many as 8 in the starting lineup at a time. This team can't count on any wins without some luck, overachieving, and growing up quick.

This will be a fun team to watch because they are not afraid and they play hard. But, the SEC is an unforgiving league for an inexperienced team.
