...most of us $1000 to $1500 going to Atlanta this weekend to watch us in a game that we had no chance to win.

It was a benchmark, winning or losing was secondary. Although a bunch of people would have been pissed. It's not likely anyone is beating Bama this year. It will be interesting when they get in a game with a team that has a really good offense. There will be a couple in the playoff so there might be a chance someone gets them, although it's probably slim..

And with that loss to Vandy he saved us from having to buy Sugar Bowl tickets. That was pretty thoughtful of him. We can now spend that money on Christmas gifts.

So it would of made many of you guys "happy" to go to Atlanta and get our brains beat in by Bama for the SECOND TIME in one season? What is so damn special about winning the Sec East? "Yippeee..we have really arrived to the point we get to be obliterated by Alabama twice in one season". I'm sure today would have been a great day for us all. Maybe we could have held em to 60. Man...we'd be walking out of that stadium waving our UT "SEC East Champions" banners with pride after losing 59-3. We at least can exit the season with some semblance of dignity for having beat Florida and Georgia. Be happy as heck we did not have to be the slaughtered lamb for Bama...again.

If we were healthy, I'd agree. SEC Champs is a legit accomplishment, especially for recruiting crew. But, I'm thinking about players who are dinged, healing, etc., and hope an extra week of healing and practice will pay off with a bowl win. Jaylen is gone so that clears up a LB position being open and available for replacement to make a statement during Bowl practice.

Had we represented the East in the SECCG, then the coaches would have gotten a bonus. We could have claimed that we are making measureable progress in the program. We could also point out to recruits that we are heading in the right direction and need just a few special players to get us from SEC East reps to SEC Champs.

Dooley left off with 2 non bowl seasons. I've never claimed to be a Butch fan, but everyone that compares him to Dooley is way off base.

Butch's hit 8 wins in his 3rd season while Dooley was at 5 in his 3rd. Dooley is the worst SEC coach in modern history.
