[FONT=verdana, arial] [FONT=verdana, arial]Certainly it was nice making a brief appearance in the NCCAT and the team played with heart and courage and should be congratulated. But, we fans and boosters were all clearly and unequivocally shown something that most of us knew in our hearts. There is a huge gap between where our program is and where the better teams in the country are. Just look at the facts:
Long Beach finished the season strong in the BWC and was at the height of its overall, yearlong performance. Yet we were thrashed and embarrased by a mediocre team from the SEC that is much better know for its football team.
With that said, we all need to ask ourselves if we think that the current coaching regime has any chance of closing that gap. If the answer is, "I'm not sure," then we need to reevaluate the level at which we want to compete. [/FONT]
