I think they owe it to Clay Travis; this is 2 years in a row that the Vols have turned it around after he's publicly stated Martin needs to go.

he's definitely made some adjustments and has the team playing very well. I think a lot of it comes from learning the strengths of his players and putting them in position

My point was more around having Kevin O'Neill at UT flashbacks during some of the games this season. There was some ugly basketball being played and questioning the coaching was only natural

Questioning some of his coaching is one thing. Calling for him to be fired 14 games into his first season before he coached his first SEC game or a few games into this SEC season is absurd. Those idiots deserve to be called out. It's funny how none of them have the ballsack to show up during the 6 game winning streak. That speaks volumes.

probably because the bball forum police wouldn't allow them to get a post in without calling them out on past comments.

the team looked bad at times this season and the criticism was warranted. Anyone who doesn't see that is as clueless as those who overreacted during the same stretch

Clay Travis is a moron wrapped in a douche bag! Not sure why any of the sports radio shows give him any exposure. Dude is an idiot!!!

Everything isn't as black and white as they want to make it. It took the team awhile to figure out how to play without Maymon. Stokes hadn't even played a full season and had to adjust to double teams. Golden had been injured and he was not nearly as confident as he was last year. Once he got healthy, UT started their 6 game winning streak.

UT has had only one truly bad loss on their resume, but you would think they had lost to a number of bad teams based on the venom spewed by the Miserables. Again, the Legion of the Miserables usually have no damn clue what the hell they are watching and have zero experience teaching the game to even give a smidgen of meaningful advice. Every loss had the same morons coming in saying Martin should be fired. Now they've won 6 straight and they're nowhere to be found. F'n pathetic. They would rather hope UT and Martin fail instead of swallowing their pride and admitting they were wrong.

Bs. If posters run their mouths when things are bad, and are no shows when things look good, they are piece of shiznit. Period. Nothing wrong with some criticism, but it goes beyond and you know it.

Yahtzee!

If they're going to criticize when things are bad, then nut the hell up and show up when things are going good. It just shows the typical flippant attitude that most of them have towards anything. If those fools were allowed to run the UTAD, they would make Jimmy Cheek look like a genius.

There was no need for the ridiculous overreaction...like calling for CCM to be fired. If you truly believe that was warranted I don't know what else to say.

geez learn to read what I said and don't overreact so much. Criticism of his coaching was absolutely warranted at times this season

Absolutely, as is criticism of posters who completely jumped the gun.

well, have fun spending your day following a huge win calling out a couple posters for overreacting. Seems like a worthwhile effort and one that makes for a great forum for discussion

just trying to break up the sewing circle that the bball forum has become. Seems to be a wasted effort on my part

what do you expect. Posters run their mouths on this site all the time, dogging coaches, dogging fans, and are proven to be well off base. 12 pages of bs. 1 pg of people responding back and reminding and you tell them to stop, when you were nowhere to be found earlier. Make up your mind.

BTO has committed himself to some serious doubt if we don't sign a PG in the 2013 class.
Doesn't look like it will happen with the reincarnation of Golden as someone he wasn't before.
Maybe he'll balance things out on the board if he comes through with a dig or 2 on Martin's recruiting at season's end.

Oh, I don't know.. How about maturity on both ends? You all are sounding like adolescent females justifying their yelling match because someone else started it.

it's a couple of posters. If you don't like what they say then ignore them. They didn't get 12 pages talking amongst themselves

You won't find one person who will deny that we have looked bad at times, and that criticism was due. The results didn't warrant umpteen threads about how CCM needed to be fired. The overreaction by the folks who want him fired in year two are as numerous and far more unwarranted than the call-out threads/posters.

I think the fact that none of them have shown up recently is testament to the fact that they were fools to begin with by creating this ridiculous standard to adhere to for a coach in his second year sans his best returning player. Where are they now to defend that stance they fought so hard to convince us was justified?

I'm not all for the constant call-outs, but some of it is warranted in the case of a few posters who only show their face in the tough times to moan and complain and ridicule those not willing to throw the baby out with the bath water.

You guys keep saying the pearl lovers never show up. I've been here. Was here last night, I respond when called out. Can't speak for the rest of them, but at least 1 shows up. I hope CM keeps proving me wrong, and I'm getting ready for my apology thread.

CCM is 3-0 vs Billy D, which IMO is the best coach in the SEC. Let that sink in you clowns that wanted him fired. Please eat some crow this morning for breakfast

I will try to not to sound too negative since I am dancing and celebrating on the inside about our recent winning streak. I still have alot of worries and concerns about Zo if that makes you feel better. Dont talk too much trash, we just reached bubble status, not fighting for a number one or two seed in the tourney...Go Vols, let's keep this streak going.

If you were mad that they hired him, then you are more than likely to want him fired after every single loss. I want to give him a chance but have worries about him getting it done.....There are a few coaches out there that I would have wanted fired from the beginning on if Tennessee had hired them.

I think at this point Cuonzo's talent coachin is undeniable. I think the only concern is that his teams start pretty slowly; however, the stars seem to be aligning for next year and if he can avoid a third slow start in a row we may have it in us to make a run in the tournament.
