I love how people just missed the point of this thread and used it to bash other users. That's just downright stupid of them.
Yes, it is funny to see such a storied program celebrate a "meager achievement" by elite standards. But on the other hand, the program has been trying to come back after years of failure. It's nice to see them back, I like the competition.
Didn't UK retire the jerseys of all the seniors on a team that lost in the Regional Finals. Those jerseys are hung in the rafters. Isn't that making a bigger deal out of a team with "meager achievement."
I'm not just criticizing Indiana for doing it. If UK did the same I'd be like wtf too.
I am.
Man-Mouth-to-Mouth-kissing Tom Crean makes trophy cases for beating #1, hangs banners, makes t-shirts, and issues for Sweet 16 appearances. And he cuts down the nets after a loss. And he screams at opposing team assistants, "You ruined the program!" And when he loses, he blows off the coach handshake.
Crean is as worthy of ridicule as anyone. He's an insufferable little piss-ant.
Thanks for admitting how hypocritical your original comment was.
Retiring jerseys of all of the seniors and hanging them in the rafters for losing in the regional final is a lot like trying to tear down the goal posts for almost beating LSU.
