Is it even legal according to the city statutes? What if the stadium had caught on fire. I relate this to when schools were chaining their doors so no one could get in or out. If I recall there were some major lawsuits over that practice. I'd say sue them....get lifetime season tickets as a your settlement!!!

I wasn't at the game but if what the OP said is true, this could be a really big deal. There are numerous circumstances where a lawsuit could originate from something like this.

As one of the lesser compromising situations, ask yourself what if you were there with your child who needed to use the restroom prior to entering the stadium and you told them to hold it until you got in. You can't tell me you wouldn't be upset.

I know its a novel idea, but next time try arriving earlier to your seats instead of waiting until the last possible moment.

smoking as low class and trashy anyway... and if you are trying to smoke among a 100 other people you are extremely selfish and should be punched in the face anyway

Nobody was locked in or trapped. The problem was everybody left the stadium & filled up the concourse. Therefore, there was literally no more room. If they left the gates open, someone could get trampled by the rush of people pushing to get in. BTW, anybody could leave at any time; you just couldn't get back in. For those that were in gate 14, we were out of the rain & it was much cooler than inside the stadium. Plus we had the entertainment of being adjacent to the KPD booking area

i asked both gate keepers and a cop and i was told i couldnt leave because lighting could strike the gate. it was a mixed bag and everyone had different rules.

They didn't hold you or force you to remain in the stadium, that's b.s.

Your buddies mistake was asking to smoke. What were they gonna do if they caught him? Kick him out?

Foe people to be in their seats more than five minutes before kickoff. Not sure where that concept is getting confusing. Get there before the last possible second regardless of the weather so you aren't rushing to your seat to see the game.

Or crawling over people right at kick off. That totally, TOTALLY ticks me off!

I was in PP and the exits were so crowded we couldn't even get close to the concourse. We got stuck outside the whole time. Horrible preparation on UTK's part...already sent a letter
