Seriously...

Kiffin is doing his job.. He is taking care of the players that didn't jack two hapless kids at a Pilot store. You know the ones trying to get ready for a big game that they still have to play. The players that did nothing wrong deserve the attention of their coach right now. The other three (you know, the ones responsible for this mess) have been left in Knoxville under what appears to me as some kind of 'indefinite suspension'.

He shouldn't talk to the media at the very least until after the team gets back from Mississippi. My preference is he tells the mental midgets in the 'media' to eff off until he has gathered enough FACTS to make a permanent decision on the future of these boys...

You say "we don't put up with crap like that". Well tough.... Who do you/they think they are? You/they don't run the program. You/they deserve NOTHING...

Personally I want CLK to make an informed, correct decision, not an uninformed, rash decision just to appease idiot members of the media and irrational panic stricken fans....

There's almost zero chance Kiffin has ever bothered to read one word of any of Adams's columns about Fulmer. The guy works what, 18 hours a day? Why would he waste even 10 minutes trying to find out what the local hack wrote about the old coach?

Also Josh Ward and Will West thought it was funny announcing breaking news with Nick Dearstone about JJ and it would be middle school humor at best.

I pray for the day when this town gets some journalist who know how to do their job.

This should have been what CLK told the media: Folks, we live in a world that has football fields and those football fields need to be guarded by a coach with a brain. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Local Media? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the crooks and curse the Head Coach; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that by making no comments, while tragic, probably saved my team from being distracted and that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, does this. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties you want me on that field, you need me on that field. We use words like honor, team, loyalty. We use them as the backbone of a life trying to build a championship program. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to the media who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very stories I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide them. I would rather you just said "thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you pick up a uniform and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

Don't know if any of you remember when John Adams first came to knoxville but i do. He is full of hate, never satisfied and will always find the dark side of everything.

If you remember when Jimmy Hyams first came here he was the same type of writer as John Adams.

They are both losers with a false sense of being on a throne.

It's expected that some of the press in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, etc. are going to take advantage of the opportunity flame UT and CLK -- especially the pot stirring media types.

As far as local media is concerned, I seen other situations where media one would expect to be more "supportive" goes pretty negative when they don't get what they want, which is information that they can work with. UT and Kiffin staying mum for now probably has them somewhat ticked off. This typically happens moreso with the pot stirring media types.

Times like these I shut out the media. Wait for the facts to flow rather then their "expert" opinions. Good or bad.

As for the rest, they seem to base more of their points on actual facts. Will west is very bright and is one of the better local radio guys. I just don't agree with anyone that is attacking Kiffin for this right now.

I agree. After living in East TN and going to UT, I moved to Nashville for a job. A couple of years ago, I had the chance to move back to Knoxville. Sports talk in Knoxville cannot get any worse. Luckily, my house never sold and I found a new job in middle TN. I feel for you guys that have to listen to that drivel, especially the morning show.
