some of the stuff in avatar marketplace is waaaay overpriced
I'm with you there. It would be one thing if you actually used your avatar for something. But I'm not blowing 80 points on a GOW tee shirt that only a handful of people will see. And that shirt is one of the cheaper ones.

i might buy some stuff in there if i have some spare points to spend, but some of the stuff is just priced to high, especially some of the costumes and props.

you can use your avatar for some stuff though, albeit there's not a whole lot yet. avatar games(which i never play) and 1 vs 100 being two of these. they'll probably have more uses for them in the future.

Joystiq reported that if you bought all the crap you'd be out roughly $221. If they can sell that crap to people, I guess power to them.

This update can also kill your XBOX. It's estimated 1 in 1,000 can fail when loading the new update. The reason is MS is covering a hole discovered awhile ago allowing full control of the 360 much like we had with the original XBOX. To do this, they are rewriting some of the boot sectors and if that doesn't work properly, the box is toast. Just a little FYI in case folks are interested.

I was disconnected halfway through installing, but turned it off and turned it back on and it started from the previous install point. I haven't had any problems with it since. :knockonwood:
