I believe that football is a lot like basketball. In bb you live by the three and you die by the three, same in FB you live by the pass, and you die by it.

We had 152 yards rushing and 355 passing. What are you talking about? Offense wasn’t the issue. It was defense. It’s always been the defense.

He’s right though. We did die by the pass, it just wasn’t ours that we died by.

I hate the loss, but your post while the cold-blooded truth is so freaking funny. I'm so glad I put my cup of coffee down before reading it. Otherwise, I'd probably have spewed a mouthful and have to buy a new computer.

Lol you believe our offense was the problem?

The game plan was amiss from the get go IMO. UF beat them to a pulp running the ball and our answer was to air it out 50x. Perhaps when we saw we couldn’t stop them, we slow it down some and get them out of rhythm offensively. They have the worst rush defense in the league and we didn’t attack that weakness very often.

We died by atrocious defense.

The people who believe we need a FB (we already play with a fb on almost every play) and to run the i formation (we basically do) have been waiting for this so they can tell us how great 3 yards and a cloud of dust is

Down 18 in the 3rd Qtr and completely unable to stop your opponent spells “you better be throwing the ball” to me. Just saying.

While I do agree with you I also disagree a little. With a qb as hot as Sc had Saturday at some point you have to run to the football and slow the game down. We are usually in the position of other teams trying that on us . Hind sight is 20/20 but I think we should have run a lot more Saturday.

Dude they scored TDs 90% of their possessions. Slowed down, sped up, nothing was going to help that defense. They were terrible early and late in the game. There’s no change offensively that was going to help us.

It was absolutely the defense that let the Vols down. TN offense has been great this season, only 1 bad outing, and that was in a hostile environment against a very good and well prepared D that played their best that day. Also, the heavy rain certainly hurt any comeback chance that day.

It sucks about HH. If there is a bright side, it might be that Milton gets a start. He certainly has the physical tools, one of the strongest arms I’ve seen for sure. Maybe he shines against Vandy and beyond, and the Vols go into the off-season very comfortable about QB. And if not, well you’ll know that too. You never know what QB might hit the portal to go after, TN offense might look appealing to such a QB. Also, TF QBs start every year. TN has a seemingly great talent coming in. Is there any chance that Lamaleava enrolls early and gets some work in the Spring?

Probably true but I am a little bit old school. I like a great running game to keep the other teams offense off the field.
