Surprised to see McBride that high, hope it happens for him and his family. Piper been's known to be way off sometimes though.

Morelli; Piper must have only watched the UT game from last season. UT (as they sometimes always do) make people look like AA's. The Morelli I watched throughout the regular season couldn't have started for Bearden High.

My gut feelin' is Meach is the 5th wideout taken in the draft.

Wow Morelli and Ainge same breath. I guess that shows you what a good bowl game does for your hype button. Morelli sucks by the way. IMO

I'm counting 5 future NFL players from UT.

I've heard Kiper say that he is high on McBride since he showed the versatility to play inside or at DE. The injury to Harrell that forced McBride to tackle probably made him some money.

the reason why Samardzija decided to choose the mlb over the nfl is because is smart . he knew he's first love was not baseball, but he is so arrogant he did not want to be exposed as a bust in the nfl.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the Cubs ponying up $10 million guaranteed money.

Yeah... If I had to choose between the NFL and MLB, it's MLB all the way.

NFL = salary caps, underpaid, weak union
MLB = crazy strong union, and teams throw around cash like it's Monopoly money

Not to mention a career that lasts 2-3 times longer.

Not to mention guaranteed money, unlike the NFL. And the fact that when you're 50 you'll probably still have your original knees and hips.

If your prospects are even remotely similar in both sports, you've got to give baseball a shot.

You would have to be a lunatic to take Turk McBride over Justin Harrell if you were looking for a DT. I can't see McBride playing DT at the next level. He might make a good defensive end. However, the fact that he didn't play DE his senior year will hurt his chances of being drafted at that position. It wouldn't surprise me too much if he went undrafted. Hopefully, he'll still make somebody's roster as an end.

He'll likely be a 3-4 DE, and good 34 DE's aren't easy to find so I think he'll absolutely be drafted. I would agree though that Harrell is much better at DT, and would be a nice fit in a cover 2 defense. Maybe the Colts take him with the last pick in the first round? :good!:

I would kill for the Falcons to get Calvin Johnson, but he won't still be there at 10, and I don't really see them trading up to get yet another receiver, considering that they've blown a couple of 1st round picks on receivers in recent years with nothing to show for it.

Besides, he'd still have Vick throwing the ball at him, so it would just be like Reggie Ball Redux. He deserves a decent QB for a change.
